It’s time again to take this thing to limit as we take on another Tuesday night! And once again there are a bunch of happening shows to check out, so get out there and make some noise this evening at such events as Brian Patricks at Fast Breaks, Poor Howard at Andy’s Old Port Pub, Open Mic with Jacob McCurdy at Bull Feeney’s and more.
If you find yourself north of Portland this Tuesday evening, folk-rocker Brian Patricks will be playing a handful of original tunes paired with classic songs that everyone knows and loves over at Fast Breaks in Lewiston. Patricks begins his set right around 7pm.
Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland will be offering up some acoustic, old school Louisiana blues as they welcome back Poor Howard to the stage this Tuesday evening. Tonight’s all ages, free show starts up around 7 o’clock.
Enjoy some mighty fine music in an awesome, intimate setting tonight as Blue on Congress Street welcomes back The Jazz Workshop for some, you guessed it, jazz tunes! The Jazz Workshop features John Clark on bass, Glenway Fripp on piano, Carl Dimow on flute, Duncan Hardy, Frank Mauceri and Tracy McMullen on sax, and Peter McLaughlin on drums. This evening’s performance gets underway at 8 o’clock.
Another Open DJ Night is happening once again at Flask Lounge in Portland. Starting at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open tables. All you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones! This event is absolutely free-of-charge and always a good time, so go on and check it out.
Portland House of Music and Events’ musical series, Under The Influence rolls on this tonight with two bands that promise to bring the jams and groovy tunes for you to bust a proper Tuesday move to. The series, which showcases local bands’ original compositions alongside cover tunes from acts that have helped influence the local acts’ sound, is both fun and informative. Tonight Central Maine five-piece funk, rock and blues band, Skosh brings some funky jams to the stage alongside Seacoast improv rock and jam band Amulus. Things get underway at 9 with both original songs and covers from such influences as the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Parliament, Frank Zappa and more, so be sure to check it out this Tuesday evening.
Bull Feeney’s hosts another acoustic Open Mic with one of the members of local folk-pop act, The Dapper Gents, Jacob McCurdy. Jacob will be playing and emceeing at this free and fun Tuesday night party. Tonight he encourages those who want to get up on stage and show off their musical prowess to do just that beginning at 9:30.
Check out another acoustic Open Mic hosted by The Run of the Mill in Saco this Tuesday evening. Beginning at 8 o’clock all musicians are welcome to join in on the fun during this free all-ages event.
