Aura presents Pierce The Veil and Sum 41 with Emarosa and Chapel tonight

I know that it may seem a little bit early to already be counting down the days until Friday, but we are, in fact, one day closer to the freakin’ weekend! This makes me happy. It makes me even happier that there are a bunch of cool things to take in this Tuesday evening, so check it out. Some cool shows are happening tonight such as Zeile August & Mark Tipton at Blue, The Record Company and Smooth Hound Smith at Port City Music Hall, Ozere at One Longfellow Square, Travis James Humphrey at Gritty’s, and more!

A sure sign that summer is right around the corner is that the Portland Lobster Company on Commercial Street is open once again for the season and this evening they welcome back Ryan Halliburton and The Still to their outdoor deck to bring some pop-rock goodness to your Tuesday with a free and all-ages gig that’ll get going right around 6.

Local artist Zeile August performs a special set with trumpet player Mark Tipton at Blue on Congress Street this evening. Beginning at 6 check out Zeile’s original psychedelic folk sounds.

Explosive post-hardcore act, Pierce The Veil and Canadian punk-pop quartet, Sum 41 bring the We Will Detonate! Tour to Aura with special guests Emarosa and Chapel. Check out this all-ages show full of blistering metal-core, pop-punk, and post-hardcore sounds as things get underway at 6:30pm.

Tonight One Longfellow Square in conduction with the New England Celtic Arts presents Ozere live in concert. Ozere takes equal inspiration from chamber groups and folk bands. It’s what happens when you bring together musicians who play bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, Klezmer, Afro Cuban, classical and more. Check them out as they take to the stage starting at 7 tonight.

Singer-songwriter Michael Howard will be performing an acoustic set at Andy’s this evening. Join Howard as this free and all-ages show starts at 7 o’clock.

Blue welcomes back the Kelly Laurence Quintet for another Tuesday evening of jazz tunes. This show gets underway at 8 o’clock.

Lean and raw rock and roll trio, The Record Company bring their blues-infused tunes to Port City Music Hall tonight. This 18+ event gets underway at 8pm with an opening set by blues-influenced folk-rock outfit, Smooth Hound Smith.

Another Open Decks Night is happening at Flask Lounge tonight. Beginning at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open tables and all you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones! This event is free and always a good time so go on and check it out.

Check out a free show at Gritty’s tonight as roots rocker Travis James Humphrey plays a set starting up at 9.

Local acoustic act Uke n’ Smile is back at Sea Dog Brewing Company in South Portland for another free, all-ages open mic event. All genres of music, musicians of varying skills, capabilities, and ages are welcome to join in on the fun as the music starts at 8pm.
