Here we go! It’s the first Monday in June and I’ve got high hopes for this week. If you’re ready to show Monday what’s up, here are some things to check out including Gina & The Red Eye Flight at Portland House of Music, Jake Jacques at Andy’s Old Port Pub, Gnarly Charlie, Willicker & Wyld Lyfe at Flask Lounge and more!
Black Cat Road is back at Portland Lobster Company this evening. The act will be lighting up the outdoor deck with their funky, soulful and rootsty blues tunes as tonight’s free event gets underway right around 6:30pm.
If you’re looking to check out a little Americana action this Monday evening make some moves to Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street to see Jake Jacques perform during tonight’s free show which gets underway right around 7 o’clock.
Get after it tonight with another Funky Monday featuring Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew. The band, which is basically most of the members of Model Airplane, back up this talented songstress for some funk, soul and R&B jams that are guaranteed to place as the good times get rollin’ right around 9 at Portland House of Music and Events.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
