PORTLAND

Portland chanteuse Renee Coolbrith joins forces with local piano man Kris Rodgers for another free happy hour set out on the patio of Portland House of Music and Events. Join this dynamic duo as they help you get your Tuesday evening off on a high note with some terrific tunes right around 5 o’clock.

Head out to the Portland Lobster Company deck this Tuesday as Captain Ray and the Castaways will keep you dancing all evening long with some fun rock and roll cover tunes during a free all-ages party that’ll get started up at 6 o’clock.

Blue welcomes back local act Trikala. The group draws their influences from Carnatic Music (South India’s  classical music tradition) and jazz and features an assortment of Western instruments including alto saxophone, guitar, and keyboards. Stop in beginning at 6:30 as these musicians blend Western timbres, Eastern melody and rhythm to create evocative compositions steeped in tradition with a contemporary twist.

Another free all ages show will be happening at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street as they welcome back local singer-songwriter Ronda Dale. Beginning at 7pm, Ronda will be filling to space with some delightful sounds during this acoustic performance.

Take in some tunes this Tuesday courtesy of Portland’s only Brazilian choro ensemble, Choro Louco as they play a show at Blue tonight. Choro Louco features local musicians Carl Dimow, Nicole Rabata, Joel Eckhaus, Eric LaPerna, and David Newsmam. This evening’s performance gets underway at 8:30.

New York-based space-funk act Particle as well as the funkified Kung Fu will be kicking Tuesday into high gear down at Port City Music Hall this evening with an 18+ show that’ll get groovin’ right around 9 o’clock.

90’s cover band Ice Cold Zima will be rockin’ their regular Tuesday night gig at Portland House of Music and Events. Time travel with some cover tunes of No Doubt, Fiona Apple, The Cardigans, 4 Non Blondes, Green Day, Lauryn Hill, Bonnie Raitt, Stone Temple Pilots, Alanis Morissette, and more as things get jumpin’ right around 9.

Flask Lounge hosts another Open Mic for DJs with a free dance party that encourages up and coming record spinners and producers to take a chance and get up on the tables during this fun event. All you need to bring are your records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome. Tonight’s DJ open mic begins at 9pm.

Rhythm & Tues, the Empire’s summer music series, rolls on tonight with house band Class Reunion. The band features a ton of talented local players performing a bunch of fun throwback funk, blues, and R&B covers. The party starts upstairs at 9 o’clock.
