Here we go! It’s the first Monday in May and I’ve got high hopes for this week. If you’re ready to show Monday what’s up, here are some things to check out tonight.
Denny Breau and Frank Coffin will be performing as part of Slates’ Monday Night Concert Series. Deny has been one of Maine’s best-known and most beloved performers for over thirty years. Winner of the Maine Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award, Songwriter of the Year, eight-time winner of Instrumentalist of the Year, and the youngest inductee to the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame. With his sideman Frank Coffin on bass, Denny presents sizzling guitar solos, touching original songs, and an amazing Chet Atkins medley, all with infectious humor, making him a favorite wherever he goes. Tonight’s show starts at 8:15pm.
If you’re anywhere near the Lewiston area this Monday, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s where local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky will be hosting another installment of his weekly acoustic open mic event. Tonight’s free event gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music, and some new friends tonight!
Rock and roll into another week with a free and fun show happening at Flask Lounge as killer line up of acts come together to play some high-energy punk, rock and roll! Starting at 8 enjoy some sounds courtesy of Jimmy Jacked, No Good, The Labor Pains and Gant.
Check out another installment of Mothership Mondays with Andrew Bailie & Crew tonight down at Portland House of Music and Events. Bailie and friends will be funkifying the start to your working week some super fun jams as things get swinging right around 9.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
