Join a slew of talented Portland musicians for an evening of romance and mystery as they pay homage to the eighteen-year career of the ethereal Cocteau Twins, performing songs that inspired the 80’s and 90’s eras of shoegaze, goth rock, dream pop, and industrial music, beginning right around 9:30pm.
Local pop-rock cover act The Nikki Hunt Band will be bringing the party to Brian Boru tonight. Covering artists such as Sheryl Crow, Joan Jett, Bruce Springsteen, Sublime, No Doubt, The Doors, U2 and many more there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone. Tonight’s performance will also include a colorful hula hoop act so be sure to check it out starting at 9:30pm.
Award-winning folk artist Anni Clark returns to Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza this Thursday evening. Clark will be bringing her acoustic 12-string up to the stage for some original tunes starting at 7.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
