Check out David Myles with Yes We Kin at Port City Music Hall tonight

Oh man, Monday is definitely doing its best to try and thunder punch me in the throat today, but I refuse to let it. If you’re duking it out with this first day of the working week might I suggest taking some time-out and enjoying yourself at any one of these fine establishments this Monday evening: Connor Garvey at Portland Lobster Company, an open mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, Hambone at Easy Street Lounge, Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and Events, and more.

Get the week started at Easy Street Lounge as jam band Hambone brings some musical merriment to your Monday with an open jam welcome to all. Starting at 9, check out Hambone’s soulful, energetic jams and even get up and play some tunes of your own.

If you’re anywhere near the Lewiston area this evening, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s as local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky hosts another installment of his weekly acoustic open mic event. Tonight’s free shindig gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all musicians.

My Skeleton, a local acoustic act consisting of musicians Alex Roy and Matt Libby, will be performing a free show out at Hooligans on the pier in OOB tonight. Join these fellas for some Monday night fun beginning at 9pm.

The Porthole welcomes Pat Foley for some acoustic country-rock. If you’re in the area tonight make some plans to drop by as the music starts up at 6.

Local singer-songwriter, Connor Garvey will be bringing his beautiful blend of soul and folk out onto the deck of the Portland Lobster Company on Commercial Street this Monday evening for a free, all ages acoustic show. Check out this fun show as things get underway right around 6 o’clock.

The State Theatre and One Longfellow Square present David Myles at Port City Music Hall tonight. A mix of James Taylor and Justin Timberlake, Myles’ music ranges from soulful, contemporary pop crooners to delicate, jazzy folk ditties, and down-home, back porch roots tunes to infectious hip-hop ear worms. Portland’s own experimental folk act, Yes We Kin opens the show tonight as things get underway at 7pm.

Frank Donovan of Maine rock-reggae act Brothers Donovan goes solo tonight with an acoustic performance at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street. Starting right around 7 Frank will be singing some songs that are certain to ease the pain of another Monday so swing through and have some fun if you’re out and about this evening.

Get after it with Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and Events as this terrifically talented act continues their summer residency tonight. The band, which is basically most of the members of Model Airplane, back up this talented songstress for some funk, soul and R&B jams that are guaranteed to please as the good times get rollin’ right around 9.
