Bring it, Monday! I’ve got nothing but good vibes to throw up against you and your mundane ways, so give it your best shot because I’m ready to do it to it tonight! There are a bunch of great things to check out tonight so show Monday what’s the what by breaking it down proper this evening. Don’t miss out on such shows as Robert Earl Keen with Ruston Kelly at Port City Music Hall, The Shakes at Portland Lobster Company, an open mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, Bill Howard at Andy’s, Hambone at Easy Street Lounge, and more. Here we go!


Local jam band Hambone will be hosting an open jam tonight at Easy Street Lounge. Tonight they welcome any and all musicians to join them for some musical merriment as this free shindig gets swinging at 9 o’clock.


Local pop-rock musician Michael Krapovicky returns to Pedro O’Hara’s this evening to host another fun open mic event. Join in on the Monday musical revelry as this all ages gathering gets underway around 6:30pm.


My Skeleton, a local acoustic act consisting of musicians Alex Roy and Matt Libby, will be performing a free show out at Hooligan’s on the pier in OOB tonight. Join these fellas for some Monday night fun beginning at 9pm.


Mike and Paul from local cover act The Cover Tones team up as a duo this evening to bring some rock, pop, dance, blues, country and all else in between back to The Porthole deck this Monday. Join The Two Tones for this free and fun shindig as things get shaking right around 6pm.

The Shakes, a 7-piece funk, rock and reggae collective from Hallowell that features some of the Maine music scene’s most fun and funky players, will be performing live out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company tonight. This free, all ages show starts up right around 6:30pm.

Pop-rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, David Vail, who is also a part of local non-profit organization, Listen Up! Music (a community support day program and studio supporting adults with intellectual uniqueness in making music), is releasing his first full-length album titled “Unvailed” tonight at One Longfellow Square. Helping Vail to celebrate will be local psych-pop-rock n’ roller Dominic Lavoie, who will open the show, which starts at 7 o’clock.

Local singer-songwriter Bill Howard is back at Andy’s Old Port Pub this evening for a free event full of acoustic tunes. Bill will begin this all-ages show starting at 7 o’clock.

Robert Earl Keen brings his wonderful blend of country, Americana and folk back to the stage of Port City Music Hall this evening. Nashville singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly will open the evening with a set of songs starting at 8.

Get after it tonight with Gina Alibrio and the Red Eye Flight Crew. Featuring most of the members of Model Airplane backing up talented songstress, Gina Alibrio, you’re guaranteed to have a soulfully good time as things start up right around 9 at Portland House of Music and Events.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
