We are slowly but surely easing our way into the freakin’ weekend. It’s been one heck of a week and I am so very ready to hoist up my Party Pants and do it to it this evening. If you’re picking up what I’m laying down, then here are some haps for you to check out tonight including Alter Igor at The Liberal Cup, Ron Bergeron at Bueno Loco, Meraki at TIQA, Keanu Keanu at Portland Lobster Company, Greensky Bluegrass and Fruition at the State Theatre, Tall Horse, Waco Sparkler, $300 & milan to minsk at Geno’s, Kilcollins at RiRa, and more!

BRUNSWICK

The Daniel Coast Bar + Bistro welcomes back local folk-rocker Brian Patricks. Patricks intertwines finger-style, rhythmic guitar with a hint of harmonica into his sets of originals and covers that span the folk, blues, roots and rock genres. Check out Patricks’ solo set as this free all-ages show begins at 6pm.

CAPE ELIZABETH 

Acoustic act Uke n’ Smile is back at the Local Buzz tonight for another free and all ages open mic event. All artists, genres, musical capabilities and ages are welcome to join in on the creative fun as this gathering gets started at 7:30.

FALMOUTH

Check out local musician Ron Bergeron as he plays a free show at Bueno Loco in Falmouth tonight. Ron will be getting things kicked into gear right around 6 with tons great covers from The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and more.

HALLOWELL

Local act Alter Igor is back to rock The Liberal Cup this Thirsty Thursday with their party-starting classic rock covers. The band will be playing everything from Nick Lowe to The Who and many, many more iconic rock n’ rollers as they get things underway inside at 7.

Local siren Sa Rah brings her evening of serenades back to the Easy Street Lounge this Thursday. Get cozy, grab yourself a delicious cocktail, and enjoy some fine tunes as things get started up at 9:30.

PORTLAND

Portland piano man Mike Maurice returns to Salvage BBQ tonight for some honky tonk piano. Mike will be serving up a classic variety of twangy hits as well as some ragtime tunes and improv. Check out this free, all ages shindig and enjoy some tasty BBQ as things start up right around 6pm.

Local duo Meraki will be serving up some soul tonight as they perform a free show at TIQA. This pair will be bringing you smooth sounds from Motown to the Londontown so be sure to swing through this evening as the music starts a t 6 o’clock.

Portland psychedelic folk-rocker Dominic Lavoie and a couple of his friends come together this evening to play some tunes as Keanu Keanu out on the deck of Portland Lobster Company. Check out some free jams of both originals and covers as this all ages (and FREE!) shindig gets swinging right around 6:30pm.

Take some time out this Thursday to enjoy a fun mix of Americana, blues, folk, bluegrass and rockabilly from local guitarist Jim Gallant as he returns to Andy’s for another free all ages show that begins at 7pm.

This is guaranteed to be a good time so don’t snooze as things start up right around 7 o’clock.

Jazz artist Viva will be bringing her vivacious vocals back to Sonny’s for another Thursday filled with funk, jazz standards, soul songs and Latin tunes that are done alongside her talented band with a fun and modern twist. Show this Thirsty Thursday what you’ve got as things get underway right around 8 o’clock.

The Portland Jazz Orchestra returns to One Longfellow Square tonight. This 18-piece jazz ensemble performs a variety of traditional and contemporary big band literature. The PJO plays works written by members such as Craig Skeffington, Willie Johnson, Chris Humphrey and Terry White in addition to literature composed by a variety of jazz artists including Tom Kubis, Matt Harris, Bob Mintzer, Bill Holman and Maria Schneider. You can check them out as things begin right around 8pm.

Michigan-based string band Greensky Bluegrass returns to the Portland tonight for as they bring their powerful sound and progressive spirit to the stage of the State. Soulful, blues-infused folk-rock and Americana outfit Fruition will start things off as this all-ages shindig gets swinging right around 8pm.

Infectious pop-rock duo Diet Cig brings their self-proclaimed “slop pop” sound to the stage of SPACE Gallery tonight. Philly lo-fi pop band Free Cake for Every Creature and Portland’s own garage-rock n’ rollers Cool Tara will kick things into gear as music starts up at 8:30pm.

A pretty sweet indie rock and roll show will be happening at Geno’s tonight. Join Portland acts Tall Horse, Waco Sparkler and $300 alongside Brooklyn band milan to minsk for some good times and good tunes as things get started up around 9 o’clock.

Jam out this Thirsty Thursday with A Band Beyond Description at Gritty’s in the Old Port. Get your free Grateful Dead freak out on starting at 9.

Tonight electro-pop rock act Dean Ford & The Keepsakes will be treating the Oasis patio to a night of electrified pop, rock and dance tunes. Bust a move and have some fun as this free show starts up at 9 o’clock.

The super fun fellas in local act Kilcollins will be doing it to it over at RiRa on Commercial Street this Thirsty Thursday. Starting at 9, the boys will be rockin’ you with all sorts of tunes that you know and love alongside a handful of catchy original jams for good measure. It’s free, fun and I would say guaranteed to be a good time, so check it out if you’re downtown this evening.
