Why not celebrate the fact that we’ve survived another Monday by getting out this evening and acting a fool on a school night? Sound pretty legit to me. Indie rock outfit Paper Lions will be performing at the Next Generation Theatre in Brewer this evening. This all ages show will start up at 8pm with an opening set from local rock and rollers, Wait.
Fat Knuckle Freddy is back at Blue this Tuesday evening. Freddy is a local composer, instrumentalist and a songwriter who plays and writes American Primitive Music on cigar box, resonator, Weissenborn, acoustic, and fretless guitars. Check out this fun night of of music as things get started up right around 7 o’clock.
Blue Prairie returns to Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight with some country and western tunes. This evening’s free, all-ages shindig will get swinging at 7 o’clock.
New England Celtic Arts presents award winning Celtic folk artist Lennie Gallant at One Longfellow Square this evening. Gallant’s songs have been recorded by over 30 artists including Measha Bruggergosman, Ode de L’Acadie, The Rankins, and Jimmy Buffet and his songs have appeared in feature films, television series, and numerous theatrical productions. Check out tonight’s performance as things get underway at 7pm.
Another Open DJ Night is happening at Flask Lounge. Beginning at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open decks. All you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones. This event is absolutely free and always a good time, so go on and check it out.
Check out a free show at Gritty’s tonight as roots rocker Travis James Humphrey plays a set starting up at 9.
Empire’s Three for 3 series continues tonight with 3 local acts bringing the rock and/or roll to the stage with some high-energy sets of original jams. Beginning at 9 make your way upstairs to check out tunes from Safe/Word, Diva Cup and Buzzy.
Local artist Clara Junken will be holding it down once again at Blue tonight. Starting at 9 Clara will be playing both her own material as well as few cover tunes during this fun musical gathering, so grab some friends, enjoy a delicious cocktail and let Junken serenade you into the evening hours.
Uke n’ Smile is hosting another open mic at Sea Dog Brewing Company this Tuesday. Starting at 8 any and all musicians are welcome to play some tunes, or if you can’t actually play an instrument, you can sing with the fellas in Uke n’ Smile as they play the music for you. It’s free, fun, and yummy drinks and food are available as well so if you’re in the area tonight be sure to stop by and check things out.
Tonight at Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza you can check out some music from local singer-songwriters Ronda Dale and Ron Babson. Ronda and Rob will be playing some original tunes and covers as well as sharing stories about their songs. This show is free and guaranteed to be a great way to kick-start your evening, so be sure to check it out as things get underway at 7.
