Looking to work it on out with some live music this Wednesday? Well, I’ve got you covered! Here are the happenings for your Mid-Week Party! Don’t miss shows such as The Heated at Slab, Parmalee and Adam Craig at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, Double Entendre at TJ’s Pizzeria, Dapper Gents Duo at RiRa, Faith Francis at Andy’s, The Maine Dead Project at Portland House of Music and Events, and more.


Take in some roots rock tunes during a free show at Champions tonight. Starting at 9:30 local musician Travis James Humphrey will be playing a solo set of songs.


99.9 The Wolf presents another free listener show tonight with country recording artists Parmalee and special guest Adam Craig. This all-ages show starts at 6:30 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Local musician Ron Bergeron will be playing another free show at the Pedro O’Hara’s tonight. Ron will be getting things kicked into gear right around 7 o’clock with tons great covers from The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and many more.


TJ’s Pizzeria in North Monmouth welcomes acoustic Americana act Double Entendre this evening. This talented duo will start making some sweet sounds starting right around 6pm.


Local pop-rock musician Alex Roy is back at The Brunswick tonight with some original tunes and cover songs. Tonight’s event is free and sure to be a good time so swing through if you’re in the area as the music starts up at 7.


The Heated will be bringing some R&B, soul, jazz, hip-hop, and electronic sounds to the patio of Slab this evening. This free and all-ages show gets swinging right around 6pm.

The Porthole hosts local singer-songwriter Isaiah Bennett once again this evening as he performs a set of his own original acoustic pop and funk songs as well as some fun covers. Things get started at 6 o’clock out on the deck so stop through and check it out if you’re in the area this evening.

Eric Bettencourt and a few friends will be playing their last show of the summer out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company. I anticipate lots of good times and good tunes as this free show starts up at 6:30pm showcasing many of Eric’s original Americana, roots and folks tunes as well as some catchy covers.

Singer-songwriter Faith Francis returns to Andy’s this evening. Check out a free, all-ages acoustic performance by Faith as things get underway at 7pm.

Blue’s Irish Concert Series continues with a featured performance by Castlebay. Music starts at 7:30 and will be followed by another Wednesday evening Irish Session open to any and all musicians looking to get up on stage and jam.

Local folk artist Dave Rowe is back at Bull Feeney’s tonight. Join Rowe for some good times and good tunes as this free show begins at 8pm.

Check out some good tunes and good vibes going down at Portland House of Music and Events tonight as The Maine Dead Project returns to the stage as part of their summer residency. These talented locals will be taking on the tunes of the Grateful Dead as this groovy gathering gets underway right around 9 o’clock.

Local folk-pop act the Dapper Gents Duo return to the stage of RiRa tonight for their regular Wednesday night gig. Join these fellas for some musical revelry as this free show starts up around 9pm.

More midweek fun will be happening at Crooners & Cocktails tonight as Hello Clarice brings some fun tunes to your Wednesday. Hello Clarice features the vocal stylings of Clarence “Jim” Roberts of Hello Newman and the musical mastery of pianist Mike Maurice. The pair will be playing everything from Sinatra to Ocean — Billy Ocean that is. Things get underway during this free show right around 9:30pm.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
