Tonight has plenty of fun things to do to help you blow those Monday blues away, so suck it up and get ‘er doing this evening at such shows as Frankie Cosmos, Big Thief & YAIRMS at SPACE Gallery, Neat and Clean at Slates, Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s and more.
Neat and Clean, a Hallowell based musical duo that formed in 1980 consisting of Kenny Cox and Dave Gagne, will be back on stage at Slates tonight. Join them for some musical merriment this Monday evening as things start up at 8:15.
If you’re in the Lewiston area this Monday, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s where local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky will be hosting another installment of his weekly acoustic Open Mic event. Tonight’s free event gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music, and some new friends tonight!
Andy’s Old Port Pub welcomes singer-songwriter Tyler Smylo for an all ages and free acoustic performance that’ll get underway at 7pm.
Prolific solo artist Frankie Cosmos comes to Portland tonight for a show at SPACE Gallery. Cosmos is known for tapping into the D.I.Y. ethos of K Records and the early-2000’s NYC anti-folk scene. Tonight Brooklyn indie rock quartet Big Thief and the the experimental-rock-art-garage-something-punk-psychotropic-kind-of-music of YAIRMS will round out this bill as things get underway at 8.
Check out the first installment of Mothership Mondays with Andrew Bailie & Crew tonight down at Portland House of Music and Events. Bailie and friends will be funkifying the start to your working week some super fun jams as things get swinging right around 9.
Neo-folk singer-songwriter Field of Spears celebrates the release of his fifth full length album titled “And the Earth Soundly Slept” with a show at Flask Lounge. Check out this free performance as things get underway at 9 o’clock.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
