Buck up, chums! There’s no need to wallow in the misery of another Monday especially when there’s so much awesome stuff to do tonight. Blow those Monday blues away by checking out some live, local music all around town (and beyond) this evening. Here we go, lots of cool stuff happening including Open Mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, Bluegrass Night with Joe Walsh & Friends at Otto, Decompression Chamber Music at One Longfellow Square and more!
Decompression Chamber Music is an informal and entertaining intro to small ensemble chamber music that’s offered up during the rush hour of the day to encourage audiences to catch an hour or so of music to help them unwind their day. Tonight the band returns to One Longfellow Square with the intention to bring the music of Brahms, Haydn and Monti to the stage starting at 6pm.
Otto’s is the place to be for some fine bluegrass and delicious pizza this Monday evening. Local picker Joe Walsh will be joined by Lincoln Meyers, Steve Roy, and Lukas Pool for an evening chock full of musical merriment. Tap your toes and have some fun as this free show starts at 8:30pm.
Get after tonight at the kick-off of Funky Mondays with Gina Alibrio and the Red Eye Flight Crew. Featuring most of the members of Model Airplane backing up this talented songstress you’re guaranteed to have a soulful good time as things start up right around 9 at Portland House of Music and Events.
Monday of the Minds: A Night of Introspective Hip Hop continues at Flask Lounge tonight. Check out some of the scene’s brightest emcees as they deliver some inspiring rhymes during this free show, which gets underway at 9 o’clock tonight.
Even more Open Mic action will be happening again at the Kerrymen Pub in Saco tonight where beginning at 7:30 both solo musicians and full bands are welcome to take to the stage and do their thing. This musical gathering is free and certain to be a lot of fun, so swing through if you’re in the southern Maine area this Monday.
