Check out Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and Events

Blah. A grey and rainy Monday has arrived and you’re looking to add a little sunshine to the day with some sweet, sweet sounds and songs then be sure to check out the haps for this evening including the Delta Knights at Portland Lobster Company, Cumberland Crossing at Andy’s Old Port Pub, an open mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, Verses vs. Verses, and more!

Get the week started at Easy Street Lounge as jam band Hambone brings some musical merriment to your Monday with an open jam welcome to all. Starting at 9, check out Hambone’s soulful, energetic jams and even get up and play some tunes of your own.

If you’re anywhere near the Lewiston area this Monday, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s where local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky will be hosting another installment of his weekly acoustic Open Mic event. Tonight’s free event gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music, and some new friends tonight!

Tonight you can check out a Blue’s monthly happy hour series called Verses vs. Verses. The event is hosted by Chris Robley & the Fear of Heights and features guest songwriters and word-writers (poems, essays, stories, manifestos, tweets) facing off to find what interesting kinks and connections arise while approaching the same theme from opposite angles. May’s theme is Time: Travel and this evening’s featured guests will be singer-songwriter, Caroline Cotter, poet and journalist, Egan Millard, and poet and teacher, poet-teacher Marita O’Neill. Things get underway at 5:30.

Take on this Monday by taking in some tunes out on the Portland Lobster Company deck as local act the Delta Knights bring some R&B, blues, soul, funk, swing, rock, jazz and more to this all ages shindig that’ll start up at 6pm.

Andy’s Old Port Pub welcomes back local, contemporary bluegrass band Cumberland Crossing for an early evening of bustling bluegrass music. Tonight’s free, all-ages show gets kickin’ at 7 o’clock.

Get after it with Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and Events as this terrifically talented act kicks off their summer residency tonight. The band, which is basically most of the members of Model Airplane, back up this talented songstress for some funk, soul and R&B jams that are guaranteed to please as the good times get rollin’ right around 9.
