The Daniel Coast Bar + Bistro welcomes local musician Jeff Kilton to the stage for some sounds that’ll include covers of such artists as Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, The Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam, The Band, Led Zep, Bob Marley and more. Tonight’s free show starts up at 6.

Maine-based songstress Sa Rah brings her evening of serenades back to the Easy Street Lounge tonight, so make some plans to get cozy and enjoy her acoustic set of songs as things start up at 9:30.
It should be a great afternoon to check out another Happy Hour with Hassan on Keys at Portland House of Music. Beginning at 5 Hassan (aka Kafari) will be serving up some super stellar jazz and funk sounds out on the patio during this free event.
Check out an early evening of soulful, funky grooves at Blue as they welcome Gina Alibrio to the stage alongside special guest Joey Pierog. Gina is a NH native who has been a a lead and back-up vocalist in several collectives including The Amorphous Band, The Jackleg Preachers, Richard James & the Namechangers, and John Powhida & the International Airport. Tonight she’ll be accompanied by Pierog (of The Four Legged Faithful) to bring some solid grooves to the stage starting around 5 o’clock.
Portland psychedelic folk-rocker Dominic Lavoie and a couple of his friends (ahem, Jeff Beam and Dan Capaldi) come together tonight to play some tunes as Keanu Keanu out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company. It should be a perfect evening to check out some free jams, both originals and covers, as this all ages, outdoor shindig gets swinging right around 6 o’clock.
16 year old Quinn Mills will be performing live at Andy’s Old Port Pub. Mills has already established himself as a skilled guitarist and adept songwriter and tonight you can see him perform live in this intimate setting during a free, all-ages show that’ll get underway at 7pm.
Locally based and exceptionally skilled (as well as fun) piano man Mike Maurice returns to Salvage BBQ on Congress Street to tickle the ivories during a free all ages show featuring his funk, soul and jazz sounds. Treat yourself to some tasty tunes and BBQ as things get started around 7pm tonight.
Check out the melodic folk sounds of Hannah Daman and Friends as they bring some fun to The Dogfish Bar & Grille tonight. Lots of good times, tunes, and vibes to take in as things get started up right around 8.
The Portland Jazz Orchestra returns to the stage of One Longfellow Square tonight. This 18-piece jazz ensemble performs a variety of traditional and contemporary big band literature. The PJO plays works written by members such as Craig Skeffington, Willie Johnson, Chris Humphrey and Terry White in addition to literature composed by a variety of jazz artists including Tom Kubis, Matt Harris, Bob Mintzer, Bill Holman and Maria Schneider. You can check them out as things begin right around 8pm.
Blue welcomes back locally based contemporary bluegrass band Cumberland Crossing for another night of bustling bluegrass. Tonight’s free show gets kickin’ around 9 and directly following the band’s set will be an all-out bluegrass jam that’s open to any and all musicians who wanna join in. Swing through and have some fun if you’re kicking around downtown this Thursday evening.
Boston’s Jesse Dee is a singing, songwriting, guitar-playing soul man who draws his inspiration and influence from such old school acts as Otis Redding, Etta James, and Sam Cooke. You can check out Jesse’s soulful roots and R&B jams as he plays a show at Portland House of Music and Events tonight. Things get started up right around 9 tonight.
Brooklyn-based indie outfit Yeasayer will be bringing their genre-bending sounds of psychedelia, pop, folk and electronic to the stage of Port City Music Hall tonight for an 18+ show. Dream-pop/trip-hop duo Young Magic will kick things off with a set that starts at 9 o’clock.
The super fun fellas in Kilcollins will be doing it to it over at RiRa on Commercial Street this thirsty Thursday. Starting at 9:30 Kilcollins plans on rockin’ you with all sorts of tunes that you know in love with a handful of catchy original jams for good measure. It’s free, fun and I would say guaranteed to be a good time, so check it out if you’re downtown this evening.
Over at at Brian Boru in the Old Port you can join Vinyl Tap who will be partying down this thirsty Thursday will all of your favorite dance jams. Vinyl Tap is known for making people bust a move to their wide array of danceable cover tunes that span between everything from everything The Beatles to Huey Lewis, Cee Lo Green, Stevie Wonder, The Dead and many, many more.
