The Juke Rockets bring their high-energy Chicago and delta blues back to the Hollywood Casino tonight. Join these talented Midcoast musicians as they take the stage for this free show right around 8pm.
Catch some classic and modern rock covers from the Jim Brown Band as the band kicks off their two-night stint at the Penobscot Pour House right around 9 o’clock.
The Chocolate Church Arts Center presents Ozere live in concert. Ozere takes equal inspiration from chamber groups and folk bands. It’s what happens when you bring together musicians who play bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, Klezmer, Afro Cuban, classical and more. Check them out as they take to the stage starting at 7:30 tonight.
Check out some banjo-based bluegrass tunes at Elements on Main Street tonight as they welcome back local act Banjo Read for a Friday night full of pickin’ and pluckin’. This free all-ages show will get started up at 8 o’clock.
Cambridge alternative folk-rock act The Ballroom Thieves return to Maine for a show at the Boothbay Opera House tonight. This all-ages show wills start at 7:30pm.
Local acoustic folk-rock cover act Rippleton Cross will be at The Daniel Coast Bar + Bistro this evening. Beginning at 7 the duo will be performing renditions of songs by such artists as Joe Jackson, Simon & Garfunkel, The Who, Cat Stevens and many, many more. This event is free and all-ages so make some plans to check it out if you’re in the area this Friday.
Tuck’s Ale House in Farmington welcomes Ron Bergeron for a night of tunes. Ron will be serving up tons of great songs starting at 7pm including covers of The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and maybe even a little Lady Gaga. If you’re in the area be sure to stop by and check out some good food and good tunes during this free and fun show.
Acoustic Americana act Double Entendre will be playing a set at the Stress Free Moose in Greenville this evening. This talented duo will start making some savory sounds starting right around 6pm.
Local act Alter Igor returns to rock out at The Kennebec Wharf tonight with their party-starting classic rock tunes. The band will be playing everything from Nick Lowe to The Who and many, many more iconic rock n’ rollers as they get things underway inside at 9.
If you find yourself up in the Hallowell area this evening be sure to stop by Easy Street Lounge as The Whitefields start rocking right around 9. Best described as a folk, funk and rock venture, this band is known for its strong vocal harmonies. Expect a wide range of styles and fun as things get underway tonight.

Channeling modern rock influences into anthemic choruses and themes of lust, loss and embracing your inner demons, Sparks The Rescue will be bringing all that and more to a free rock and roll party at The Brunswick tonight. Things get crankin’ right around 8:30pm.
Radio Revival returns to The OOB Pier tonight with tons of songs for you to groove to including covers of Queen, Billy Squier, Bowie, Tom Petty, Talking Heads, Led Zeppelin, The Strokes, Thin Lizzy, Weezer and more. This free show gets rockin’ and rollin’ at 9.
Talented, local songstress Clara Junken will be holding it down once again at Blue tonight. Starting at 6 Clara will be playing a set of soulful blues rock tunes of both her own material as well as few cover tunes during this fun musical gathering, so grab some friends, enjoy a delicious cocktail and let Junken serenade you into the 7 o’clock hour.
The Shakes, a 7-piece funk, rock and reggae collective from Hallowell that features some of the scene’s most fun and funky players, will be performing live out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company tonight. This free all ages show starts up right around 6:30pm.
An awesome, all-ages and FREE show will be happening at Bayside Bowl tonight as local rockabilly legends, King Memphis, join forces with local folk act, The Ghosts of Johnson City for an evening of rocking, rolling, and even some acoustic tunes focused on the dark roots of Americana music. Don’t miss out as things get swinging at 7 o’clock tonight.

Salvage BBQ on Congress Street welcomes back the Jerks of Grass for another fun Friday filled with tons of toe-tapping bluegrass tunes. This free all-ages shindig gets swinging around 8:30.
Aura presents singer, songwriter and blues guitar prodigy, Quinn Sullivan with special guests OC and The Offbeats. With an exciting, varied, and energetic electric guitar style capable of channeling everyone from Hendrix to Clapton, a flair for writing pop songs, and a fundamental grounding in the blues, and sharing the stage with greats such as Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Los Lobos, The Roots, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi, Joe Bonamassa, and B.B. Tonight Jay Bragg (who many of you know as half of the country duo, North of Nashville) will be taking to the stage of Empire tonight for a mighty fine evening of music alongside Americana act, Welterweight. Local band JD Gilbert & The Night Train will be bringing some toe-tappin’ country tunes to The Kerrymen Pub this finally Friday. This free party gets rockin’ and rollin’ right around 7:30pm.
Local folk artist Dave Rowe is back at Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza tonight. Join Rowe for some good times and good tunes as this free and all-ages show begins at 7pm.
Jeezum Crow returns to The Frog and Turtle tonight with some Americana, rock, country, alternative, folk, and rockabilly sounds for your finally Friday. This evening’s free and all-ages show starts up at 8:30.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am.
