Check out Lacuna, Nuclear Bootz & Bumbling Woohas at Empire tonight

It’s time to take this thing to limit as we take on another Tuesday! Once again there’s a bunch of happening shows to check out so get out there and make some noise this evening at such shindigs as Will Bradford & Brooke Binion at Bayside Bowl, Dominic Lavoie & Friends at Portland Lobster Company, an open mic with Uke n’ Smile at Sea Dog Brewing Company, Travis James Humphrey at Gritty’s, and more.


Local pop-rock artist Alex Roy will be performing a set of original tunes and cover songs at Champions. Tonight’s event is free and sure to be a good time so swing through if you’re in the area as the music starts up at 9.


Local singer-songwriters, Will Bradford of SeepeopleS and Brooke Binion of The Worst team up tonight for a free show on the rooftop of Bayside Bowl. Join these two for some Tuesday night fun as this free and all-ages show gets started up at 6pm.

Local psychedelic folk-rocker Dominic Lavoie and a few of his friends will be playing some tunes out on the Portland Lobster Company deck in downtown Portland this Tuesday. Starting at 6:30 you can take in this free show that’ll probably consist of both covers and originals, so grab some pals, enjoy a couple cocktails, and let Dom and the gang serenade ya!

Take in some roots rock tunes during a free show at Gritty’s tonight. Starting at 7 local musician Travis James Humphrey will be playing a solo set of songs.

Andy’s Old Port Pub welcomes musician Ian Ryan tonight for a solo, acoustic set that’ll start up at 7 o’clock tonight.

Flask Lounge in Portland presents another open mic for DJs with their free dance party, which allows up and coming record spinners to take a chance and get up on the tables during the event. All you need to bring are your records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome as the party starts right around 9 o’clock, so check it out.

If you’re looking for some Tuesday night rock n’ roll then be sure to check out this week’s Three For 3 at Empire featuring the cool tunes of Lacuna, Nuclear Bootz, and the Bumbling Woohas. This shindig is guaranteed to be a party as things get shaking upstairs at 9 o’clock.


Acoustic act Uke n’ Smile returns to Sea Dog Brewing Company in South Portland tonight for another open mic event. All artists of different skills, genres, and ages are welcome to get up on the microphone as this free, creative gathering gets underway at 8pm.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am.
