The Juke Rockets bring their high-energy Chicago and delta blues sounds to the stage of Hollywood Casino in Bangor tonight. Join these talented Midcoast musicians as they take the stage for tonight’s free show right around 8pm.
Midcoast 90’s al-rock cover band Living Room Circus will be waxing nostalgic on stage at the Riverside Bar & Grille in Bath this Friday evening. Join them for a night of fun times and tunes as this free 21+ show gets crankin’ right around 9 o’clock.
The Daniel Inn Coast Bar & Bistro welcomes back Maine musician Peter Carriveau for Friday full of terrific tunes. Peter has numerous influences from folk to Americana to rock. During this free, all-ages show that starts up at 7, you’re likely to hear songs by artists such as Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Gram Parsons, Steve Goodman, Van Morrison, The Beatles, Steve Earl, Ray Lamontagne, and many more, so be sure to stop by if you’re in the Brunswick area this evening.
Turn up the heat this Friday at Frontier in Brunswick with Primo Cubano as they help you dance the night away with some of the best classic Cuban and salsa music around. Tonight’s performance will get underway at 7:30pm.
Blues, rock, soul, and R&B band, Slygo Road will be cranking out an eclectic mix of danceable originals and classic covers up at The Rack in Sugarloaf tonight. Don’t miss these fun fellas as they hit the stage starting at 9 o’clock.
The Lost Boys bring some rock, blues and original tunes to Chummies tonight. Start your weekend on a high-note with these fellas as they take the stage right around 9 o’clock.
The Kennebec Wharf is the place to be for a Friday night full of rock and alternative covers as well as some super catchy original jams from local band Zealous Bellus. The fellas are ready to party on down as this free show starts up at 9 o’clock.
The Scolded Dogs will be making some noise at the Easy Street Lounge tonight as they return with some party-rockin’ tunes. Starting at 9 you can expect to hear some awesome originals as well as covers of such acts as Johnny Cash, Parliament, Snoop Dogg and more.
Train’s Tavern welcomes local cover act Illusion to the stage tonight. Starting at 8 expect some high energy rock and roll with covers from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today, with a little country mixed in.
Stephanie Nilles brings her unique combination of jazz, folk (or anti-folk), and punk to Guthries tonight. Her lyrics are witty, abrasive, and bawdy, and her piano skills are impressive. Be sure you check her out if you’re in the area tonight as this free show starts up at 8.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH
Dance it up down at The Brunswick as dance/pop cover act Tickle returns to bring the house down with some of the best of today’s tunes mixed in with a little touch of retro funk action. The party starts at 8:30.
Local pop-rock outfit The Still returns to Portland House of Music and Events for another Happy Hour set that’ll get started (most likely on the patio) right around 5 o’clock. Enjoy some good tunes, good times, and great drink specials along with some great people during this free and fun shindig.
Bluegrass duo Darlin’ Corey will be back at Blue this finally Friday evening. Beginning at 6, you can stop by and check out the act’s delightful blend of vocal harmonies, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitars that create a unique bluegrass, old timey, folk originals.
Award-winning violinist Rob Flax will be performing live at Acoustic Artisans this Friday evening. Rob has performed locally, nationally, and internationally with groups of many different styles, including opening for B.B. King and Tower of Power, collaborations with dancers and filmmakers (including work on the soundtrack of James Franco’s film As I Lay Dying), and several original projects. See him tonight beginning at 7pm.
Genre-blending, Western Maine folk outfit GoldenOak will be performing live at One Longfellow Square tonight. Singer, songwriter and fiddle player Ellie Buckland will open the night with a set starting at 8 o’clock.
90’s MTV cult rock band Green Jello will be at Geno’s tonight for a big ol’ April Fools Party featuring their punk rock puppet show and also featuring sets from special guests Cryptid Slaughter, Ripfence, Ascent To Power, Tsunamibots, Crack-head Mikes and Torn in Two. Things get cranking right around 8pm.
Eccentric indie duo, David Wax Museum, brings their Mexican folk and Americana inspired, pop-tinged tunes to life on the stage of Port City Music Hall tonight. inspired by Mexican folk and Americana traditions with a strong pop streak. Massachusetts string-rock act Darlingside and folk singer-songwriter Haroula Rose round out this evening’s bill as music starts right around 8 o’clock.
If you’re Art Walking this evening, , be sure to take in tonight’s performance by Okbari at Blue. Starting at 8 the act will be performing music from the Middle East and Turkey on such unique and beautiful instruments as oud (fretless Middle Eastern lute), qanun (72-stringed Middle Eastern micro-tonal zither), nay (ancient Middle Eastern reed flute), and Middle Eastern percussion.
An awesome night of indie alt-, pop- and psychedelic-rock will be taking over Empire in Portland this finally Friday. Beginning at 9 you can swing through and check out some seriously awesome sets of sounds from local acts Leveret and Jeff Beam and Burlington band Madaila. Again, lots of terrific original tunes happening upstairs at Empire so make sure you make some plans to hit this one up.
It’s common knowledge that Fridays are a perfect time to shake your moneymaker so you might as well do just that by getting down to Flask Lounge in Portland where DJ Jamie O’Sullivan will be hosting his monthly LOVE event. LOVE features O’Sullivan bringing you the best house, techno and disco to shake your can to. You can check out this free dance party starting right around 9.
Portland House of Music is the place to be to take in some awesome tunes tonight as they welcome Portland based pop-rock and Americana act the Jason Spooner Band to the stage alongside Vermont roots-rockers The Chad Hollister Band for what should be a Friday night chock full of fun. The good times and good tunes get rollin’ along at 9 o’clock.
The S.F. Jones Band, a group of seasoned bluesters hailing from the Lakes Region, will be bringing some good times and good tunes to Bull Feeney’s tonight. This rock solid lineup oozes rockin’ psychedelic swamp boogie blues that raises the roof, rumbles the floor and shakes butts right outta their seats. Join ‘em for this free show starting at 9:30.
If you’re looking to get down to some good tunes tonight then make some moves over to Brian Boru in the Old Port where Doubting Gravity will be getting the party started right around 9:30 with their upbeat, original pop rock.
Bust out your AquaNet and get ready to wax nostalgic with Poison tribute band, Fallen Angel as they bring the rock and roll to Mixers tonight. All the hair-metal your heart could ever desire begins at 8:30.
Veteran funk rockers Rustic Overtones will be joining forces with Boston based band Ghosts of Jupiter, which features members of Assembly of Dust, J Geils Band and the Ryan Montbleau Band, as well Portland psychedelic rock n’ rollers Dominic and The Lucid for a Friday night full of awesome tuneage up at Mainely Brews in Waterville. This 21+ party will get underway right around 9.
The Groove Kings are back at the Frog and Turtle in downtown Westbrook tonight to bring some soul, funk and rhythm & blues to your finally Friday. Join the fellas for some free, all-ages fun as the music starts up at 8:30pm.
