Check out Monday of the Minds at Flask Lounge tonight

Oh man, Monday is definitely doing its best to try and thunder punch me in the throat today, but I refuse to let it win. If you’re duking it out with this first day of the working week might I suggest taking some time out and enjoying yourself at any one of these fine shows including American Ride Duo at Champions, an open jam with Hambone at Easy Street Lounge, Captain Ray and The Castaways at Portland Lobster Company, Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and more!

The American Ride Duo goes acoustic once again tonight as they perform a plethora of modern country covers for you this Monday evening during a free show at Champions. Music starts around 8:30pm.

Get the week started with some musical merriment at Easy Street Lounge as local jam band Hambone returns to host an open jam this evening. Beginning at 9 stop by and check out Hambone’s soulful, energetic tunes and sign up to sit in and play some songs of your own during this free and open gathering.

If you’re spending this Monday in Lewiston make plans to drop by Pedro O’Hara’s as local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky hosts another acoustic Open Mic. Tonight’s free and fun musical gathering gets started up right around 6:30, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music this evening!

Get this Monday evening underway with a free show out at The Porthole as acoustic folk singer-songwriter Sam Chase returns for a free show out on the deck. Tonight’s show will start up outside right around 6 o’clock.

Head out to the Portland Lobster Company deck where Captain Ray and the Castaways will keep you dancing all evening long with some rock and/or roll cover tunes as this free, all-ages party gets swinging right around 6:30pm.

Andy’s Old Port Pub hosts an evening of acoustic, old school Louisiana blues as they welcome back Poor Howard to the stage tonight. This all ages and free show starts at 7.

Monday of the Minds, a night of community hip-hop, returns to Flask Lounge tonight. Hosted by Stay On Mars and Smokeye, this week’s installment will feature sets of rhymes from Ock Cousteau, P.Sieze, Gvtz, Average Citizen, Cody Pope, Sympl, Paulii Rotx, Black Sheep and Coalition Hip Hop. There’ll also be a cypher for any emcees who want to get up and freestyle so be sure to stop through and check out this free show as things get started up at 9.

Funky Mondays continue to be the perfect the place to get down as Gina Alibrio and the Red Eye Flight Crew bring you some of the funkiest, fun and soul-filled sounds around. Alibrio’s impressive pipes are backed by a band featuring members of Model Airplane so you know you’re gonna have a wicked good time boogie-ing down to some terrific tunes as things get started at 9 over at Portland House of Music and Events.
