Check out Monday of the Minds at Flask Lounge tonight

Back at it again, babies! Time to make the most of this working week by having fun when we can at some great shows all around town and beyond. There’s no reason to let another mundane Monday get ya down, so get out there and do it to it at such shows as the Don Campbell Trio at Slates, Verses vs. Verses with Gibson Fay-LeBlanc (Portland poet laureate), Linda Aldrich, and Doug Cowan (of Welterweight) at Blue, Bill Howard at Andy’s, Andrew Bailie & Friends at Portland House of Music and more!

Adult-contemporary folk rocker Don Campbell and his band will be performing at Slates this Monday evening. A full night of tunes will start up at 8:15pm.

Get the week started at Easy Street Lounge as local jam band Hambone brings some musical merriment to your Monday with an open jam session that’s open to all. Starting at 9 check out Hambone’s soulful, energetic jams and even sit and play some tunes of your own during this free and fun event.

If you’re anywhere near the Lewiston area this Monday, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s where local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky will be hosting another installment of his weekly acoustic open mic event. Tonight’s free event gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music and new friends tonight!

Tonight you can check out a Blue’s monthly happy hour series called Verses vs. Verses. The event is hosted by Chris Robley & the Fear of Heights and features guest songwriters and word-writers (poems, essays, stories, manifestos, tweets) facing off to find what interesting kinks and connections arise while approaching the same theme from opposite angles. February’s theme is This Means War and this evening’s featured guests will be Gibson Fay-LeBlanc (Portland poet laureate), Linda Aldrich, and Doug Cowan (of Welterweight). Things get underway at 5:30.

Local singer-songwriter Bill Howard is back at Andy’s Old Port Pub this evening for a free event full of acoustic tunes. Bill will begin this all-ages show starting at 7 o’clock.

Mothership Mondays with Andrew Bailie & Crew continue tonight at Portland House of Music and Events. Get down with Bailie and friends as they funk up your Monday with some super fun jams starting at 9pm.

Monday of the Minds, a showcase of some of the scene’s biggest and brightest hip hop artists, continues tonight at Flask Lounge. This free event is hosted by Stay on Mars and Smokeye as they welcome Jarv, Ben Shorr, P. Seize, Indigenous Immigrants, Sky Wizard and Unique Unknown to showcase some of their beats, bangers and bars. Things get underway right around 9 o’lock tonight.
