Check out Old Crow Medicine Show with Town Meeting at the Maine State Pier

I hope you’re all geared up and ready to go because it’s time once again to take things to the limit as we tackle another Tuesday. There are a bunch of hip, happening shows to check out, so shimmy on into those Party Pants and make some noise this evening. Lots to do this evening including Sarah Potenza and Anna Lombard at One Longfellow Square, Blacktop Mojo and Fifth Freedom at Port City Music Hall, Lyle & Phil Divinsky at Blue, Gavin DeGraw at Aura, Ron Bergeron at Captain Jack’s, Ronda Dale at Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza, and more!


Local fellas Alex Roy and Matt Libby come together for another acoustic performance at Champions tonight. This free show will start up at 9pm.


Captain Jack’s in Naples welcomes Ron Bergeron for a night of tunes. Ron will be serving up tons of great songs starting at 6 including covers of The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and maybe even a little Lady Gaga. If you’re in the area be sure to stop by and check out some good food and good tunes during this free and fun show.


Alt-country band Old Crow Medicine Show returns to Portland tonight with their brand of music that combines D.I.Y punk attitude with tradition American roots tunes. This evening’s show happens at the Maine State Pier and will get underway with an opening set by roots-rock, Americana, country, and folk-infused act, Town Meeting, who’ll get things kickin’ right around 6pm.

El Shupacabra will be hitting the desk up on the roof of Bayside Bowl for a free party full of fun bangers that’ll get started up right around 6 o’clock. 

Check out some classic blues tunes at Blue tonight as they welcome local act Ramblin Chops and The Revelator for a show that’ll start up right around 6 o’clock.

Local musician Dan Merrill is back on the deck of The Porthole this evening for a set that’ll feature a variety of acoustic rock, pop and folk covers and originals. Tonight’s show is free and starts up at 6.

Check out a free show happening on the deck of Portland Lobster Company as Ryan Halliburton and The Still return to bring some pop-rock tunes to your Tuesday evening as this all-ages show starts up at 6:30pm.

Folk-rock musician Brian Patricks will be at Andy’s tonight. Patricks intertwines finger-style, rhythmic guitar with a hint of harmonica into his sets of originals and covers that span the folk, blues, roots and rock genres. Check out this free all ages show as things begin at 7 o’clock.

Lots of awesome soulful, R&B-infused pop-rock tunes to take in tonight as singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw returns to Portland for a show at Aura. Things get underway right around 8pm.

Tonight One Longfellow Square welcomes Nashville-based powerhouse vocalist, Sarah Potenza to the stage. Potenza is a noted singer-songwriter who combines elements of pop, blues, soul, country, and Americana for a unique sound that’s all her own. Local soulful siren Anna Lombard will kick off the evening. Starting at 8 you can check out Anna and her band’s powerful performances full of intense, emotive lyrics as well as soaring, full-range vocals.

It’s been a minute since Lyle Divinsky and his poppa Phil came together as Dos Divinskys to lay down some smooth, soulful sounds. Don’t miss out on your chance to see this talented duo do their thing during a show at Blue. The good times, good tunes, and guaranteed good vibes will get going right around 8 o’clock this evening.

Flask Lounge in Portland presents another open mic for DJs with their free dance party, which allows up and coming record spinners to take a chance and get up on the tables during the event. All you need to bring are your records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome as the party starts right around 9 o’clock, so check it out.

Take in some roots rock tunes during a free show at Gritty’s tonight. Starting at 9 local musician Travis James Humphrey will be playing a solo set of songs.

Texas rockers, Blacktop Mojo bring their  fiery blend of post-grunge, Southern rock, and metal to the stage of Port City Music Hall tonight. This evening’s rock n’ roll show gets crankin’ at 9 with an opening set by heavy-hitting local band, Fifth Freedom.


Toby McAllister of local pop-rock band Sparks The Rescue will be performing a solo, acoustic set at Easy Day this evening. Beginning at 6pm Toby will be performing some of his own originals as well as some covers of popular tunes from the past 20 plus years.

Uke n’ Smile is hosting another open mic at Sea Dog Brewing Company this Tuesday. Starting at 8 any and all musicians are welcome to play some tunes, or if you can’t actually play an instrument, you can sing with the fellas in Uke n’ Smile as they play the music for you. It’s free, fun, and yummy drinks and food are available as well so if you’re in the area tonight be sure to stop by and check things out.


Another free and all ages show happens at Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza as they welcome back local singer-songwriter Ronda Dale to the stage for an acoustic performance that will begin at 7pm.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
