The Fire House Grille in Auburn welcomes back Jeff Kilton for some sounds that’ll include covers of such artists as Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, The Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam, The Band, Led Zep, Bob Marley and more. Tonight’s free show starts up at 8.
The Daniel Coast Bar & Bistro welcomes back Peter Carriveau for an evening of acoustic tunes this Thursday. Peter has numerous influences in his music from folk to Americana to rock. During this free, all-ages show that starts up at 6, you’re likely to hear songs by artists such as Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Gram Parsons, Steve Goodman, Van Morrison, The Beatles, Steve Earl, Ray Lamontagne, and many more.
Local acoustic act Uke n’ Smile host another Open Mic at the Local Buzz this evening. Starting at 7 all reasonably capable musicians are more than welcome to play some tunes or you can come and sing with the fellas in Uke n’ Smile as they play the music for you. It’s free, fun and yummy drinks and food are available as well, so if you’re in the area tonight, be sure to stop by and check it out.
King Eider’s Pub in Damariscotta welcomes local singer-songwriter Ron Bergeron for a full night of music. Ron will be serving up tons of great songs starting at 7 including covers of The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and maybe even a little Lady Gaga. Local folk-rocker Brian Patricks will be playing a handful of original tunes and classic covers at Bueno Loco Mexican Restaurante in Falmouth this evening. Patricks begins his set right around 6 so stop through and enjoy some tasty tunes and food.
Local act Alter Igor will be rocking out at The Liberal Cup tonight with their party-starting classic rock tunes. The band will be playing everything from Nick Lowe to The Who and many, many more iconic rock n’ rollers as they get things underway right around 7.
Serenades with Sa Rah continue at Easy Street Lounge tonight so be sure to grab a cozy seat, enjoy a delicious cocktail, and get ready to hear some lovely acoustic tunes courtesy of this local songstress as this free show starts at 9 o ‘clock.
Check out another Happy Hour with Hassan on Keys over at Portland House of Music and Events this Thursday evening. Starting at 5 Hassan (aka Kafari) will be serving up some super stellar jazz and funk sounds during this free event that will probably happen out on the patio.

Texas transplant Joel Thetford returns to Blue with his original country and Americana compositions. Since relocating to Portland, Joel has become a fixture in the songwriting community and has shared the stage with such acts as The Mallett Brothers Band, North of Nashville, Jake Hill & Deep Creek, Joe Gallant & the Transit, Diesel Doug and the Long Haul Truckers, and more. See him in this truly unique and intimate setting as music starts at 7 o’clock.
High-energy bluegrass band Seagrass returns to Andy’s Old Port Pub for some good times and good tunes this evening. Get your Thursday kicked into high gear with this talented act as music starts at 7.
Montreal-based Americana and progressive folk quartet The Barr Brothers will be performing at an all-ages show at Port City Music Hall tonight. Genre-blurring ensemble, Arc Iris, which is fronted by former Low Anthem member Jocie Adams, will kick off the evening with a set that starts at 8.
NY-based act The New Folk Collective will be journeying through the traditional folk music of the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains, Ecuador, Germany, and Australia tonight during a performance at Blue. Check out this seven-piece outfit as things begin at 8pm.
Jazz artist Viva will be bringing her vivacious vocals to Sonny’s for a Thursday filled with funk, jazz standards, soul songs and Latin tunes that are done alongside her talented band with a fun and modern twist. Show the this Thirsty Thursday what you’ve got as things get underway right around 8 o’clock.
Your last chance to check out the not-to-be-missed indie rock act known as Old Etc happens tonight at Empire as they present their Foreverfest Farewell and Album Release Show alongside Bad Fellows, The Dead Elect, Mirth and Wait. Each and every time I have seen Old Etc live I have been inspired and enamored by their performances full of original material that sticks with you long after the show’s completion. The members are off on new adventures and are taking this evening as a time to share one last adventure with you all. Tonight’s show is guaranteed to be fiery and wonderful so be sure to check it out as things get underway at 8.
Bust out your best dance moves and get ready to mellow your mind at Gritty’s in the Old Port with the one and only Band Beyond Description. Far more than just your typical Grateful Dead cover band, these fellas will jam out accordingly on everything from the Allman Brothers, Phish, The Band and much more. Anticipate good times, good tunes, and good peeps starting at 9.
Muster up your mightiest hairnado, lock up those devil horns, and prepare to bring the thunder as King Buffalo returns to Portland for one helluva rock and roll party at Geno’s tonight. The band will be joined tonight by Heavy Necker and Red Sky Mary who’ll also be ready to melt your face and properly propel the party into heavy metal and RnR stratospheres. The dudes in Kilcollins will be doing it to it over at RiRa on Commercial Street this thirsty Thursday. Starting at 9 Kilcollins plans on rockin’ you with all sorts of tunes that you know in love with a handful of catchy original jams for good measure. It’s free, fun and guaranteed to be a good time, so check it out if you’re downtown this evening.
Steve Jones & The All Night Rascals return to bring some dub-style reggae-rock upstairs at Brian Boru in the Old Port tonight. Get down to some seriously raging tunes as this free 21+ party gets crankin’ right around 9:30pm.
