It’s time once again to make the most out of this Monday. And what better way to do so then by checking out some great live music tonight? If you’re looking for a way to make the magic of the weekend last a little longer then get to one of these shows: Sam Chase at The Porthole, Dean Ford & The Keepsakes at The Pier Patio Pub, Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music, Snaex & The Slipstreeming Mondays at One Longfellow Square, Kate Campbell Strauss & Friends at St. Lawrence Arts, and more!


Tonight electro-pop rock act Dean Ford & The Keepsakes will be rockin’ The Pier Patio Pub in Old Orchard Beach. This show is free and is guaranteed to be chock full of pulsating beats, infections hooks, screaming synths, shredding guitar, and soaring singalongs as things get swinging at 9pm.


Listen Up! Music, a Portland-based nonprofit day program and music studio that supports adult musicians with intellectual uniqueness in making music, hosts another afternoon party at One Longfellow Square today. Beginning at noon local experimental folk duo Snaex will join forces with The Slipstreeming Mondays and Friends for some musical merriment during this all ages event.

Get your Monday evening going with a free show out at The Porthole as acoustic folk singer-songwriter Sam Chase returns for a free show out on the deck. Music starts up right around 6 o’clock.

Muddy Ruckus will be making your Monday a bit merrier with a free show out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company tonight. This gypsy blues-folk act will kick things off right around 6:30pm.

St. Lawrence Arts presents another installment of their Monday Night Jazz Series tonight with another rousing performing from Kate Campbell Strauss & Friends. The act will be playing some jazz and blues with a soulful flair as this evening’s performance begins at 7pm.

Make some moves this Monday over to Andy’s Old Port Pub as local musician Paddy Mills performs during another free show this evening. Mills is an award winning folk singer/songwriter whose songs are as salty as the Maine coast he calls home, check him as he starts playing right around 7.

Flask Lounge will be hosting another Primary Dance Party tonight but this time it’s all about the ladies. This special night will focus on the leading women of the post-punk, New Wave era. Get ready to dance it on out as this free party gets rocking and rolling right around 9 o’clock.

Get after it tonight with another Funky Monday with Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew. The band, which is basically most of the members of Model Airplane, back up talented songstress Gina Alibrio for some funk, soul and R&B jams that are guaranteed to get the good times get rollin’. Make the most of this Monday with some music therapy as things start up around 9 down at Portland House of Music and Events.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
