It’s another Tuesday to take in some free tunes at Portland Lobster Company as Ryan Halliburton and The Still return with some pop-rock sounds as they bring this free, all ages show out on the deck beginning at 6.
Enjoy some mighty fine music in an awesome, intimate setting tonight as Blue on Congress Street welcomes back The Jazz Workshop for some, you guessed it, jazz tunes! The Jazz Workshop features John Clark on bass, Glenway Fripp on piano, Carl Dimow on flute, Duncan Hardy, Frank Mauceri and Tracy McMullen on sax, and Peter McLaughlin on drums. This evening’s performance gets underway at 8 o’clock.
Maine-born jazz composer and drummer Will Mason brings his NYC-based septet to SPACE Gallery in Portland tonight. The Will Mason Ensemble is Stuart Breczinski (oboe), Curtis Macdonald (alto sax), Nina Moffitt (voice), Travis Reuter and Andrew Smiley (guitars), Dan Stein (bass), and Will Mason (drums). Opening this show is Portland’s own the evening is Portland’s own talented beat maker, Kafari, who’ll be bringing his multifarious jazz and funk sounds to the stage starting at 8:30pm.
The weekly musical event known as Under The Influence at Portland House of Music and Events returns this Tuesday as they present yet another amazing night of Maine-made music with Talons of Spring and Canned Bread. These two talented acts will be showcasing their own original jazz, reggae, hip hop, indie rock, funk, and soul music compositions as well as covers from artists that have helped to shape and inspire them as artists. Things get underway at 9 and will feature original jams as well as renditions of songs by such artists The Doors, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, James Brown and more, so be sure to check it out this Tuesday evening.
Flask Lounge hosts another open mic event that is designed for DJs and producers. Tonight’s open mic allows up-and-coming artists to take a chance up on the decks. All you need to participate are some records, CDs and a controller. All formats of music are welcome as music starts spinning around 9 o’clock.
Check out another acoustic Open Mic at The Run of the Mill in Saco tonight where starting at 8 all musicians are welcome to join in on the fun during this free all-ages event.
