What up, Monday?! For all of you 9-to-5ers who are looking to blow off a little bit of Monday steam this evening, here’s what’s crackin’ all around town and beyond this evening. Shows from Poor Howard at Andy’s Old Port Pub, The Longfellows at Portland House of Music and Events, Open Mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s and more. Here we go!

HALLOWELL

Local blues and R&B act The Colwell Brothers will be celebrating the release of their new record, Bad Apple, with a show at Slates this evening. Join the band as things get swinging right around 8:15pm.

LEWISTON

If you’re spending your Monday near the Lewiston area, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s as local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky hosts another installment of his weekly acoustic Open Mic night. Tonight’s free and fun event gets started up right around 6:30, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music this evening!

PORTLAND

Poor Howard Stith returns to Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street for some acoustic, old school Louisiana blues. Tonight’s all-ages free show starts up at 7 o’clock.

Make some moves this Monday to take in both some bluegrass and pizza at OTTO as Portland picker Joe Walsh will be joined by a few of his friends to provide a mighty fine musical soundtrack to your evening. The fun starts during this free event right around 8:30pm.

Mondays continue to be one of the most soulful days of the week down at Portland House of Music and Events. The Longfellows, a collection of some of Portland’s funkiest players which boasts members of Model Airplane, Jaw Gems, The Fogcutters, Micromasse Connor Garvey Band, and more, will be bringing the fun and funk to the stage as tonight’s show gets swinging right around 9.

SACO

South of Portland tonight is another Open Mic at The Kerrymen Pub in Saco. Starting at 7:30, both solo musicians and full bands are encouraged to take to the stage and do their thing. Tonight’s shindig is free, fun and a great way to show off your musical capabilities so check it out if you’re in the area this Monday evening.
