Locally based singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Dave Jacquet is back at it again tonight as he hosts another free Open Mic at Cole Farms. Beginning at 7, any and all musicians are welcome to join in with Dave and a few of his friends as they share songs and stories all evening long. Portland House of Music welcomes back all you Dead Heads for an early evening of jams as The Working Dead return for another free Happy Hour show. Beginning at 4:30 this local band will be serving up great cover tunes from The Dead as well as other jam band classics.
Blue’s Irish Concert Series continues with a featured performance from set Owen Marshall, Laura Fedderson and Joel Wennerstrom. Music starts at 7:30 and will be followed by another Wednesday evening Irish Session open to any and all musicians looking to get up on stage and jam.

Porter’s songs weave a universal perspective about the questions, struggles, and triumphs of human existence. His live shows are guitar driven events that are electrifying, dynamic, and original in the way that Porter’s voice blends with his virtuoso fret work. See him tonight beginning at 8pm.
Bull Feeney’s on Fore Street in the Old Port welcomes back local duo the Squid Jiggers to the stage. The pair will be playing their own original brand of folk-infused drinking tunes starting right around 8 this Wednesday. Wind down your Wednesday with some acoustic roots tunes courtesy of David Beam and The Custom House Gang as the local act plays a free show at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street tonight. These fellas will get the good times rolling starting right around 8 o’clock.
Afrobeat Wednesday with local act Silent Force is happening again at Portland House of Music and Events tonight. Featuring members of Model Airplane, Sha Sha Sha, Micromasse, The Fogcutters, and more, Silent Force will keep you dancing all night long as they pay tribute to the funkiest sounds from Africa starting up at 9 o’clock.
This Wednesday the Mind Spray All Stars tour invades Rap Night at the Asylum. Mind Spray is a monthly event in Boston featuring hip-hop showcases and an open mic where emcees have a chance to win $100, studio time, and future showcase slots. This month marks their two year anniversary, and to celebrate they’re sending some of their artists on the road. This evening don’t miss showcases from Dark Matter, Cody Pope, Shalom, plus Uncle Sam. There will also early and late open mic cyphers with Ill by Instinct and El Shupacabra so don’t snooze as things start up right around 9.
