AUBURN

Skosh brings their badass blend of funk, rock and ska Gritty’s Auburn location tonight for a party that’s guaranteed to get your shakin’ it like a salt shaker. Join the fellas for this free show that’ll get cranking right around 8.

BANGOR

If you find yourself Fridaying up in the Central Maine area get on over to The Nocturnem Draft Haus in Bangor as they present another fine evening of jazz tunes and musical merriment with local act The Bill Barnes Trio. This free 21+ shindig gets swingin’ at 8 o’clock.

If you’re in Bangor tonight do not sleep on a great, all ages rock and roll show happening at Central Gallery. Hometown heroes Wait will be joining forces with Portland trio Weakened Friends for a Friday filled with high-energy indie rock that’ll get started up right around 8:30pm.

Burlington jam band Revibe returns to Maine for a show at The Boomhouse in Old Town. Revibe combines a wide range of musical influences and genres including jam, funk, psychedelic rock and electronica to create tight grooves that are bound to keep you moving. Get down to The Boomhouse as tonight’s shindig gets shaking right around 9.

BATH

Singer-songwriter Joan Osborne, who is best known for 1995 hit “One of Us,” will be performing live with Keith Cotton at the Chocolate Church Arts Center in Bath this evening. The pair will be performing music of Osborne’s bluesy, folky pop that has helped to make her a critical and cult fave throughout the years. This all ages performance will begin at 7:30 this evening.

More in the way of high-energy, high-quality RnR (rock n’ roll!) happens at the Riverside Bar & Grille in Bath tonight as three local acts team up to bring the thunder this evening. Prepare to get rocked and/or rolled by Prospect Hill, Wayland, 13 High and Fifth Freedom as things heat up right around 9 o’clock.

BROWNFIELD

Singer-songwriter John Gorka will be performing up at the Stone Mountain Arts Center. John has been part of the new folk movement since the late 80’s, slowly and steadily carving out his niche. Be sure to check out this show if you’re in the area as things get started right around 8.

BUCKSPORT

The Blast Addicts kick off a two-night stint at Ramona’s in Bucksport tonight. Starting at 9 join these cool cats for a non-stop rock and roll dance party that’s guaranteed to get you moving out on the dance floor!

ELLSWORTH

Chummies in Ellsworth hosts The Fox and The Hound tonight as the local outfit brings some roots, Americana, country and pop sounds to stage during a free 21+ show that’ll start up at 9:30pm.

FREEPORT

Local artist Rob Duquette will be bringing a mix of jazz, rock and various other grooves to Gritty’s Freeport location tonight. Enjoy some great live jams as things get started around 8:30.

HALLOWELL

Hanging in Hallowell? Then check out the dead ahead, high-energy, 4-piece, dance-your-butt-off rock and roll band The Worthy Bones as they return to the Kennebec Wharf tonight for a free show that gets jumpin’ right around 9.

The Scolded Dogs are back to make some noise at the Easy Street Lounge tonight as they bring some more party-rockin’ tunes to the stage for another free show. Starting at 9:30 you can expect to hear some awesome originals as well as covers of such acts as Johnny Cash, Parliament, Snoop Dogg and more.

LEBANON

Seacoast band Red Sky Mary will be bringing some high-energy rock and roll to Train’s Tavern tonight. Get ready to have some serious fun as these fellas prepare to blast off into the rock and roll stratosphere with a bunch of fun covers and catchy originals as this free show gets crankin’ around 9 o’clock.

LEWISTON

Black Cat Road is back at The Cage in Lewiston this evening. The act will be lighting up the stage with their funky, soulful and rootsty blues tunes as tonight’s free event gets underway right around 8pm.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH

Dance it out down at The Brunswick in Old Orchard Beach as dance/pop cover act Tickle gets ready to bring the house down with some of the best of today’s music mixed in with a little touch of retro funk. The party starts at 8:30 tonight.

PORTLAND

It’s the First Friday of the month, which means that local bluegrass duo Darlin’ Corey is back at Blue. Beginning at 6, you can stop by and check out the pair’s delightful blend of vocal harmonies, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and guitars that are used to make up some truly unique bluegrass, old timey and folk sounds.

Boston singer-songwriter Sean Von Clauss will be performing a set of pop-rock originals and covers at Andy’s Old Port Pub this evening. This free, all ages show starts at 7pm.

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Garland Jeffreys brings his blend of rock, soul, and reggae to the stage of One Longfellow Square this evening. Join Jeffreys tonight as this all ages event begins at 8pm.

Okbari Middle Eastern Ensemble will be entertaining the patrons of Blue with an evening of music from the Middle East and Turkey starting right around 8 o’clock. This local act performs on such unique and beautiful instruments as oud (fretless Middle Eastern lute), qanun (72-stringed Middle Eastern micro-tonal zither), nay (ancient Middle Eastern reed flute), and Middle Eastern percussion. This show is guaranteed to expand your musical horizon so be sure to check it out if you’re downtown this First Friday evening.

Portland’s own twisted rockabilly and Americana rockers and rollers Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies return to Salvage BBQ tonight with a high-energy show that fires up right around 8:30.

Man, oh man, I hope you’ve done some stretching, taken some gummy vitamins, and eaten your Wheaties because tonight’s show at Portland House of Music and Events is bound to be all kinds of awesome! This evening Massachusetts-based act Tigerman WOAH! returns to the stage with their gritty, punk-tinged rootsy bluegrass tunes alongside local Americana rockers The Toughcats and Portland’s newest rock outfit Midwestern Medicine. Mammoth amounts of rockin’ and rollin’ will be happening as this 21+ show gets shaking at 9 o’clock!

Bust a move and celebrate LOVE tonight as DJ Jamie O’Sullivan celebrates six years of his First Friday dance party over at Flask Lounge. This month’s anniversary installment of LOVE features some of the best house, techno and disco music around. Properly shake your can at tonight’s free shindig as things get grooving right around 9.

Cover band Sweep The Leg brings the party back to the stage of RiRa tonight. Starting at 10 get ready to bust a move to some super fun rock, blues, ska and funk jams.

The Evan King Group will be laying down some smooth jazz and funky soul this First Friday at Blue on Congress Street in Portland. Grab some friends and have some fun as the band gets started at 10 o’clock.

The Vaudevillian folk punk powerhouse known as Bella’s Bartok melds klezmer pop with a circus vibe into a spectacle that can’t help but compel you dance. Tonight you can join them alongside special guests and openers Candy Ambulance for a night of fun at Mainely Brews as the party starts at 9:30pm.

WESTBROOK

Mike Preston & The Buckstop Band bring some acoustic country to Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza for the venues Friday Night Acoustic Music Series. Join in on the fun as this free, all ages show will get swinging at 7 tonight.
