If you’re out and about Auburn tonight swing on over to Gritty’s where Mitch Alden will be performing. Mitch Aldren is the creative force behind alternative rock band, Now is Now, so stop by and check out his solo set, which starts right around 8pm.
Acoustic Americana act Double Entendre will be hosting an open bluegrass jam at The Gin Mill in Augusta this evening. Join in on the musical revelry as things get underway at 7:30pm.
Orono act, Tough End String Band will be performing in Pickering Square this evening as part of the Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series. The band will be serving up some old-time and jazzed-up approaches to traditional American music during a free and all-ages show that’ll start up at 6 o’clock.
Check out a fun evening of funk jams at the Standard Gastropub in Bridgton as Andrew Bailie performs during a free show that’ll start up at 5 tonight.
Local acoustic act Uke n’ Smile is back at the Local Buzz tonight for another free and all ages open mic event. All artists, genres, musical capabilities and ages are welcome to join in on the creative fun as this gathering gets started at 7:30.
Check out local musician Ron Bergeron as he plays a free show at The Depot in Gardiner tonight. Ron will be getting things kicked into gear right around 8 with tons great covers from The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and many more.
The Scolded Dogs will be bringing the party to The Liberal Cup tonight. These fellas will be making some noise playing some original tunes as well as covers of Johnny Cash, Parliament, Snoop Dogg and more as things get swinging at 7.
Portland trio, Bread & Circus will be bringing some soul and blues classics to Alisson’s Restaurant in Kennebunkport tonight. Join these three talented musical merrymakers as things get underway at 10.

Local party band The GE3ks are bringing some of the best 80’s pop, dance, New Wave, hard rock, rap and one hit wonder tunes to The Pier Patio Pub once again tonight. Shake your groove thing out on the dance floor as this free show gets swinging at 9.
Portland’s own all-female power-pop, rock and roll outfit, Tiger Bomb brings the party to the park this Friday evening. Join this energetic and awesome band for some serious fun as this family-friendly and free event gets swinging in Congress Square Park at 6pm.
Rippin’ rock n’ roll band Riot Act goes quiet tonight to supply you some acoustic party tunes this Thursday evening. Things will get crankin’ out on The Porthole deck right around 6 o’clock.
Rising, local singer-songwriter Lena Rich performs at Blue tonight. Rich has shared the stage with artists such as Anais Mitchell, Antje Duvekot and Tony Trischka. See her in this wonderfully intimate venue as things get underway at 6pm.
Local fellas Sylvain’s Acadian Aces will be playing a free and family-friendly gig out in Fort Allen Park on the Eastern Prom tonight. Beginning at 6:30 these talented gents will be serving up some authentic Cajun tunes for you to dance around to.
Rock and soul act The Reggie Sullivan Band return for another free and fun show out on the Portland Lobster Company deck. Let the good times roll with this talented band as this all-ages event gets underway at 6:30pm.
Shake it to some sultry salsa tunes with a bit of a punk edge as Slab’s Summer Music Series continues tonight with local salsacore act El Malo. This free and all ages party starts up on the patio right around 7pm.
Local artist Jim Gallant brings a mix of Americana, blues, folk, bluegrass and rockabilly to Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight. Join him for a free evening of music as this all ages show starts at 7 o’clock.
MB Padfield brings her fun fusion of pop, rock, blues, jazz and hip-hop elements back to Brian Boru tonight. Check out Padfield’s impressive guitar skills and smoky vocals as things get underway at 7:30 followed by dance songs spun by DJ Tiny Dancer.
Aura in Portland presents classic rock artist Eddie Money. Eddie Money brings his blue-collar brand of rock and roll to the stage tonight. Money has managed to transcend generations and continues to move audiences today. Along with having sold more than 28 million records, Money’s songs have appeared in dozens of movies and television shows. Music starts up at 8 o’clock with an opening set by Portland power-pop, piano man, Kris Rodgers.
Blue welcomes back contemporary bluegrass band Cumberland Crossing for another night of bustling bluegrass. Tonight’s free show gets kickin’ around 8 and directly following the band’s set will be an all-out bluegrass jam that’s open to any and all musicians who wanna join in. Swing through and have some fun if you’re kicking around downtown this Thursday evening.
Comic book artist and indie-folk/punk/garage songwriter, Jeffrey Lewis will be at SPACE Gallery tonight. Based in NYC, and treading in the musical realms of Yo La Tengo, Jonathan Richman, and Velvet Underground, Lewis’ current band, Los Bolts features Mem Pahl on bass and Brent Cole on drums. This evening’s show starts up at 8:30 with opening sets by local songstress Morgan Bouton and female folk-choir Altar Boys.
Check out the roots-rock, Americana, country, and folk-infused tunes of Town Meeting alongside Wells acoustic rock n’ rollers, Hours North and Manchester, NH’s alt-rock outfit, Paper Monsters, as the three acts team up for some fun this Thursday at Portland House of Music and Events. Things get underway right around 9pm.

This genre-bending 10-piece band has gained a devoted following in New York City, and toured throughout Europe to sold-out concert halls. They’ll be joined by local rock outfit OC and the Offbeats, who’ll open the show at 9 with their fun blend of blues and soul.
Are You Kidding Me? Tapes presents another local music throw down with four awesome rock n’ roll bands joining forces for some Thursday night thunder at Geno’s. Starting at 9, check out sets from Adulting, Short Fictions, Uncle Spudd and Liberos.
Ben Kilcollins & The Vargas Twins will be hanging out at RiRa again for some sweet, acoustic action. You know Ben from his time spent pop-rockin’ as the frontman of the band Kilcollins, but this evening he teams up with the talented Vargas Twins for some fun cover tunes and originals starting right around 9.
Mellow your mind with some stellar jams at Gritty’s during another fun night with the one and only A Band Beyond Description. Far more than just your typical Grateful Dead cover band, these fellas jam out on everything from Phish, the Allman Brothers, The Band and more. Anticipate good times, good tunes and good people starting right around 9.
Toby McAllister of local pop-rock band Sparks The Rescue will be performing a solo, acoustic set out on the Oasis patio this evening. Starting at 9pm Toby will be performing some of his favorite STR originals as well as some covers of popular tunes from the past 20 plus years.
Eric Bettencourt is back in town this week and tonight he’ll be joining a few pals out on the patio of Amigos for some fun. I anticipate lots of good times and good tunes as this free show starts up at 9:30pm.
Prepare to shake your can all around this Thursday evening as disco/funk powerhouse Motor Booty Affair returns to the gazebo in Memorial Park as part of the Summer Concerts in the Park series in Scarborough.Things get shaking around 6:30 during this free and family-friendly event.
Easy Day in South Portland welcomes back local singer-songwriter Isaiah Bennett this evening as he performs a set of his own original acoustic pop and funk songs as well as some fun covers. Things get started at 6 o’clock, so stop through and check it out if you’re in the area this Thursday evening.
Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza welcomes back local instrumentalist and vocalist Seth Warner and a few special guests to the stage for a free show filled with blues, country, folk, re-imagined jazz and songbook standards. Don’t miss out on the fun as things get underway at 7 o’clock.
