Here we go, Monday. Yet again we are facing the challenge of trying to make the most out of Monday’s misery. Thankfully, as with Mondays past, there’s a boat load of cool stuff happening all around town and beyond, so give this Monday the one-two punch and blow those Monday blues away with the utmost of ease by checking out shows such as Bill Howard at Andy’s Old Port Pub, Puma Simone at Flask Lounge, Open Mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, The Longfellows at Portland House of Music and more.
Contemporary singer-songwriter Tret Fure will be performing live at Slates in Hallowell this Monday evening. Tret’s 2015 release, her 15th, is a stunning collection of heartfelt love songs, beautiful story songs and pertinent socially conscious songwriting, with strong acoustic melodies and of course, her signature guitar-playing. You can check out her compelling set as things get underway at 8:15 tonight.
Pop-rock musician Michael Krapovicky returns to host another free Open Mic night up at Pedro O’Hara’s this Monday evening. Join in on the musical revelry as things get underway right around 6:30 tonight.
Keep Monday rolling along with some live, acoustic tunes from local singer-songwriter Bill Howard. Bill will be playing some songs at tonight’s free show taking place at 7 down at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland.
Connecticut based singer, songwriter and producer Puma Simone will be bringing her tunes to life at Flask Lounge tonight. Be sure to stop by beginning at 8 for a free set of inspired songs from Simone.
You can also treat yourself to some bluegrass and pizza down at Otto on Congress Street this Monday evening. Tonight local picker Joe Walsh and friends will be providing a mighty fine soundtrack to your evening starting right around 8:30.
Mondays continue to be one of the most soulful days of the week down at Portland House of Music and Events. The Longfellows, a collection of some of Portland’s funkiest players which boasts members of Model Airplane, Jaw Gems, The Fogcutters, Micromasse Connor Garvey Band, and more, will be bringing the fun and funk to the stage as tonight’s show gets swinging right around 9.
If you’re looking for even more Open Mic action tonight then check out tonight’s event at the Kerrymen Pub in Saco. Starting at 7:30 full bands and solo acts are encouraged to take to the stage and showcase their musical abilities in front of a live audience. This open mic is a free, fun way to spend a Monday night, so swing through if you’re in the Southern Maine area tonight.
