If you’re out and about in the L/A area this evening be sure to pop by the Great Falls Festival Plaza where local musician Michael Krapovicky will be performing a set of acoustic pop-rock originals and covers. Michael will get this free all ages show started at 6.

Five-piece funk, rock and blues band Skosh brings the thunder to Gritty’s in Auburn tonight. The band will be performing 2 sets this finally Friday, one will be a mix of covers and originals, and the second will be entirely filled with Prince tunes as they celebrate the life and music of The Purple One. This free 21+ party gets underway at 8.

Make some plans to have some fun with the fellas of local act the Dum Bums as they play a free show at the Fire House Grille starting at 8:30 tonight. There’ll be lots of classic tunes to groove to so be sure to stop by if you’re in the area this evening. 


Lucie & The Undercover Band will be bringing some classic rock covers to Hollywood Casino in Bangor tonight for a free 21+ show that starts up at 8pm.

Check out Maine’s newest Grateful Dead experience, the Terrapin Orchestra, as they play three sets of Dead song during a show at the Union Street Brick Church in Bangor. Mellow your mind this Memorial Day Weekend as music starts around 8.

Central Gallery in Bangor is the place to be for some hard-hitting alt-rock tunes tonight. Beginning at 8pm take in some thunderous sets from At the Heart of It with Dear Father, Cheers to Verona, and The Restless Atlantic. This all-ages show is only $5 to check out.


Right Amount of Wrong bring their rock and roll party to the Riverside Bar & Grille in Bath tonight as they fire things up right around 9 with their wicked fun classic and modern rock covers.


Central Maine rock cover band Dakota will be bringing the thunder to the stage of Bowen’s in Belfast as they play songs from such acts as Bon Jovi, Shinedown, Bush, Aerosmith, Journey, Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, and more beginning at 9pm.


Local act October Road will be performing at Champions in Biddeford this Friday evening. Starting at 6:30 check out a fun set of Americana and folk rock tunes at this free show.

Check out some fine banjo-based bluegrass tunes at Elements on Main Street tonight as they welcome back local act Banjo Read McNamara for a Friday night full of pickin’ and pluckin’. This free all-ages show will get started up at 8 o’clock.


Legendary singer-songwriter Jonathan Edwards will be live on the stage of Stone Mountain Arts Center this finally Friday evening. Starting at 8 o’clock Edwards will be playing his beloved blend of country and folk-rock. Anticipate some singalong moments during his songs “Sunshine” and “Shanty”.


15-year-old singer-songwriter and midcoast native Meghan Clark will be playing a free all ages show at The Daniel Coast Bar + Bistro tonight. Meghan currently performs as a solo acoustic act and loves to play her own original songs as well as covers from many different genres of music like Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, 1975, The Weeknd, and One Direction. Tonight’s show starts at 7.


The Blast Addicts kick off a two-night stint at Ramona’s in Bucksport tonight. Starting at 9 join these cool cats for a non-stop rock and roll dance party that’s guaranteed to get you moving out on the dance floor!


Steve Jones & The All Night Rascals return to bring some dub-style reggae-rock up to The Kennebec Wharf in Hallowell tonight. Get down to some seriously raging tunes as this free 21+ party gets crankin’ right around 9.


Smokin’ Blues Grille in Hollis Center celebrates a year of business with a free party featuring the tunes of Poke Chop and the Other White Meats. Join the fellas for all the soulful blues you’ll need as this all ages shindig gets swinging at 6:30pm.


If you’re in Lebanon tonight and in need of some high-energy rock n’ roll then make your way over to Train’s Tavern as Seacoast rock act Red Sky Mary will be blasting off into the rock n’ roll stratosphere right 8 o’clock this Friday evening.


Acoustic alternative artist John Hasnip will be bringing some songs to Pedro O’Hara’s tonight. Starting around 8 he’ll be playing some fun tunes for you to bust a move or two to this Friday evening.

Guthrie’s in Lewiston will be jumping once again tonight as they welcome back The Juke Joint Devils to play some tunes tonight. Starting at 8, check out some old time, hard driving and swinging blues as the band kicks out the jams all night long during this free all ages show.


Climb aboard the Blue Steel Express tonight as the band brings some hard-driving blues to the stage of Bray’s Brew Pub in Naples for a free show that’ll get chugging along at 9:30pm.


Maybe you’re getting your weekend started early this afternoon, if that’s the case kick things into high gear with some free music out on The Brunswick patio in Old Orchard Beach with the fellas of Kilcollins. These guys will be forming as trio right around 1 o’clock this afternoon to play some super fun pop-rock originals as well as some cover jams so swing through if you’re kicking it in the OOB sunshine this Friday!

Riot Act and 95 North join forces for a full night of rock and roll out by the beach. These two super fun bands will be supplying the soundtrack for your Friday night party as they hit the stage of Mr. Goodbar in Old Orchard beach right around 7.

Local cover act Black Rose are back at GFB Scottish Pub tonight playing your favorite classics and songs of today starting at 8pm.

Blue welcomes back members of local act The Ghosts of Johnson City this Friday. These musicians will present an evening of old mountain music, Civil War songs, coal-mining melodies, tunes of love and loss, and haunting murder ballads from the American South starting up at 6.

Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro welcomes back local folk-rocker Brian Patricks for an evening of music. The Work Trucks will be making some noise during a free show at Mainely Brews tonight. With a blend of rockabilly, country, old-time rock and roll, Americana, and roots rock, the act is guaranteed to please as they get the party started right around 9:30.


Phil Divinsky and his Americana-tinged rhythm & blues band return to The Frog & Turtle in Westbrook tonight. You can enjoy some soulful sounds starting right around 8:30 at this fabulous gastro pub located in downtown Westbrook.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
