I’m calling it right now and stating that the long holiday weekend starts tonight! This Thursday is packing some serious thunder, so why not invite it to the party known as the weekend? AUBURN

Local musician Lindsey Montana will be back to acoustically rock and/or roll at the Fire House Grille tonight. Join him for some good times and good tunes as this free shindig starts up at 7:30.

Gritty’s in Auburn welcomes back Michael Krapovicky for a night of acoustic pop-rock originals and covers. Michael will get the good times rollin’ along at 8 during this free set.

HALLOWELL

Local siren Sa Rah brings her evening of serenades back to the Easy Street Lounge this Thursday. Get cozy, grab yourself a delicious cocktail, and enjoy some fine tunes as things get started up at 9:30.

NAPLES

Toby & Nate of local pop-punk-rock act Sparks The Rescue will join musical forces for a special acoustic set of songs at Captain Jack’s in Naples tonight. This free show starts at 7 and will feature both cover songs from the last 30 or so years as well as some original compositions so be sure to stop on by if you’re up that way tonight.

PORTLAND

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and 2015 Maine Songwriters’ Association songwriting contest winner, Jenny Van West will be bringing her roots country, blues and gospel tunes back to the stage of Blue this Thursday evening. Jenny will be joined by musical confidant Jon Cooper as they bring you songs reminiscent of such artists as Alison Krauss and Emmy Lou Harris. Check out this terrific early evening of music as things get underway at 5 o’clock.

The first summer show out at the Maine State Pier happens this evening as legendary country musician Kenny Rogers brings his final tour, The Gambler’s Last Deal to Portland tonight. Kicking off this evening’s festivities will be Linda Davis and The Jason Spooner Duo. This all-ages outdoor events gets underway at 6pm.

Steve Jones & The All Night Rascals will be serving up some dub-style reggae-rock out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company tonight. Enjoy some tasty crustacean treats as well as some seriously raging tunes as this free all ages show gets swinging at 6:30pm.

Check out The Grassholes as they play some feel-good bluegrass songs over at Flatbread on Commercial Street. Beginning at 6:30, you can kick back and enjoy some delicious wood-fired pizza as well as some mighty fine, boot-tappin’ tunes during this free all-ages affair.

Another chance to take in the smart, pop-infused Americana and folk sounds of local act Welterweight happens tonight as they return to the stage of Blue for a performance that’ll get underway at 7 o’clock.

Local Folk-rocker, Brian Patricks will be playing some original tunes and classic covers at Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight. Patricks begins his set right around 7 and will rock you on in to the 9 o’clock hour so be sure to stop through if you’re out that way tonight.

Portland piano man Mike Maurice will be back at Salvage BBQ tonight for a free show featuring some funk, soul and jazz sounds. Enjoy some tasty BBQ and tasty tunes as this free all ages show starts at 7.

Girls, Guns and Glory will be taking the stage of One Longfellow Square this evening to deliver some solid rockin’ and roarin’ country tunes. Tonight’s show gets rippin’ right around 8 o’clock.

Local blues brothers and truly talented troubadours Samuel James and Dana Gross are back at Blue tonight as they join musical forces for a night of fun. Beginning at 8 this dynamic duo of dedicated dues will be singing some songs, plucking some guitar strings, and sharing some stories to enhance your Thursday so be sure to stop in and check things out.

Don’t miss tonight’s celebration of the season as Viva presents the Summer Sol Ball at Portland House of Music and Events tonight. Local songstress Viva and her band The Reinforcements will be bringing this steamy soiree to the stage filled with their fun Latin fusion tunes. Tonight’s event will also feature the photography of Cortney Vamvakias and original music by opening act Dr. Funxtable. Dress code for tonight’s gathering is summer elegance and things get underway at 8pm.

Local pop-rockers Kilcollins play their regular Thursday night show over at RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland. This Thirstday evening these gents will be rockin’ all the tunes you know and love starting right around 9 o’clock.

Get down to some awesome alternative hip-hop tonight at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port as local act Crimewave returns to throw down some tuneage during a free rage that’ll get cranking upstairs right around 9:30pm.

If you’re looking for some sultry salsa tunes with a bit of punk-tinged edge then make your way over to Sonny’s tonight for a free lounge show featuring local salsacore act El Malo. The band will be bringing the grooves beginning at 9:30.

Roots, Rhythm & Dub are back at Brian Boru in the Old Port tonight for some high-energy reggae and dub that’ll get you grooving as their free show upstairs starts at 9:30pm.

Enjoy your Thirsty Thursday Get your Tuesday evening started with some free tunes out on the Amigos patio as Ryan Halliburton and The Still perform some pop-rock tunes outside during a free show that starts at 9:30.

SACO 

Singer-songwriter Jordan Kaulback will be guitar slingin’, piano playin’ and singin’ at The Run of the Mill in Saco tonight. Things get underway right around 8 during this free all ages show.
