Oh yes, yes, y’all! It’s time to take it to the limit again this Tuesday in celebration of surviving another Monday! High fives all around! If you’re looking to blow off some steam and let ‘er loose this evening, here are some places to check out, including Ryan Halliburton & The Still at Portland Lobster Company, Ronda Dale at Andy’s Old Port Pub, Gill Landry at 58 Main, David Francey at One Longfellow Square, and more!
Nashville-based Americana singer-songwriter and former member of Old Crow Medicine Show, Gill Landry will be performing live at 58 Main in Bangor this evening. This evening’s show starts at 7 o’clock.
Get your Tuesday started with some free tunes at the Portland Lobster Company as Ryan Halliburton and The Still bring some pop-rock tunes to the deck as they play a free, all-ages show that’ll start up around 6 o’clock.
Blue welcomes Trikala to the stage this Tuesday evening. The act draws their influences from Carnatic Music (South India’s classical music tradition) and jazz and features an assortment of Western instruments including alto saxophone, guitar, and keyboards. Stop in beginning at 6:30pm as these musicians blend Western timbres, Eastern melody, and rhythm to create evocative compositions steeped in tradition with a contemporary twist.
Another free all ages show will be happening at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street as they welcome back local singer-songwriter Ronda Dale. Beginning at 7pm, Ronda will be filling to space with some delightful sounds during this acoustic performance.
Four-piece alt-rock act X Ambassadors return to Portland tonight for an all-ages show at the State Theatre. Electro-singer-songwriter Robert DeLong and pop musician Sara Hartman will get the music started as things get underway at 8.
Check out some great tunes from Portland’s only Brazilian choro ensemble, Choro Louco as they play a free show at Blue tonight. Choro Louco features local musicians Carl Dimow, Nicole Rabata, Joel Eckhaus, Eric LaPerna, and David Newsmam. This evening’s performance gets underway at 8:30.
Another Open DJ Night is happening at Flask Lounge tonight. Starting at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open decks. All you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones. This event is absolutely free and always a good time, so go on and check it out.
Bull Feeney’s acoustic Open Mic with local folk-pop artist Jacob McCurdy continues tonight. Join in on the fun as Jacob invites any and all musicians onto the stage to show off their musical prowess starting at 9:30.
Another acoustic Open Mic will be happening over at The Run of the Mill in Saco tonight. Starting at 8 o’clock all musicians are welcome to join in on the fun during this free all-ages event.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
