Connor Garvey & Friends perform at Portland Lobster Company this evening

Oh man, Monday is definitely doing its best to try and thunder punch me in the throat today, but I refuse to let it win. If you’re duking it out with the first day of the working week might I suggest taking some time out and enjoying yourself at such shindigs as Gina Alibrio & The Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music, an open mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, Pretty Girls Sing Soprano at Andy’s and more.

If you’re anywhere near the Lewiston area this evening, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s as local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky hosts another installment of his weekly acoustic open mic event. Tonight’s free shindig gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all musicians.

Local singer-songwriter, Connor Garvey will be bringing his beautiful blend of soul and folk out onto the deck of the Portland Lobster Company on Commercial Street this Monday evening for a free, all ages acoustic show. Check out this fun show as things get underway right around 6 o’clock.

Andy’s Old Port Pub in downtown Portland welcomes local act Pretty Girls Sing Soprano to the stage to fill the space with beautiful sounds and songs. Since their inception Pretty Girls Sing Soprano have quickly turned heads with their tight, clever and original harmonies. You can check them out starting at 7 o’clock this Monday evening.

Funky Mondays continue to be the perfect the place to get down as Gina Alibrio and the Red Eye Flight Crew bring you some of the funkiest, fun and soul-filled sounds around. Alibrio’s impressive pipes are backed by a band featuring members of Model Airplane so you know you’re gonna have a wicked good time boogie-ing down to some terrific tunes as things get started at 9 over at Portland House of Music and Events.

Work it out at Flask Lounge in Portland with DJs OldNight, Zimbra and Doomsday J as they present another Primary Dance Party. The trio will be spinning some post-punk, synth-pop, New Wave and much more as tonight’s free dance party gets bumping right around 9 o’clock.
