Blues vocalist Shemekia Copeland, who has shared the stage with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck and other blues dignitaries, will be performing on stage at the Stone Mountain Arts Center this evening. Things get underway right around 8.


The Daniel Inn Coast Bar + Bistro welcomes back local folk-rocker Brian Patricks for an early evening of music. Over at Geno’s, Cryptic Overcast, Pigboat, Covered In Bees and See The World, which features the vocalist of TREE,will be doing some rocking and rolling to help raise money for Portlander Dave Devine who is currently fighting Leukemia. Medical bills sucks, but Maine music and musicians do not so make sure you head over to Geno’s beginning at 9pm to show your support and have a great time.

NJ acts Tie Goes To The Runner and Isn’t It Always are coming through Portland during their “Eunoia Tour” and will be playing some rock and/roll at Hella Good Tacos alongside local heavy hitters, Classy On Occasion and Adulting! This is an all ages show and sure to be an awesome time! Get there before 8pm if you want tacos. Show starts at 9pm.

The fellas in Hello Newman will be pumping out the jams tonight as they host a party upstairs at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port. Starting at 9:30, you can check out the band as they rock all of your favorite 90s tunes all night long!

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
