Central Maine rock cover band Dakota will be bringing the thunder to the stage of the Penobscot Pour House as they play songs from such acts as Bon Jovi, Shinedown, Bush, Aerosmith, Journey, Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, and more beginning at 9pm.
Local four-piece rock n’ roll act Riot Act will go quiet tonight for an acoustic set at Champions. Tonight’s free show gets started right around 6:30.
Pop-rock veteran Spencer Albee will be sharing some new songs during a free show at Elements tonight. Join Albee for a fun evening in downtown Biddeford as things start up at 8pm.
If you’re in the Brunswick area head out to The Daniel Coast Bar + Bistro for a great night of music as they welcome Carl Root for a free early evening show this Friday. Beginning at 7 you can enjoy some laid back grooves from the catalogs of Ray Charles, Steely Dan, Leon Russell, Sly, Al Green, Mose Allison, Robben Ford and a host of others.

Local party band The GE3ks are bringing a night of the best 80’s pop, dance, New Wave, hard rock, rap and one hit wonder tunes around to the stage of Mr. Goodbar tonight. Shake your groove thing out on the dance floor as things get underway at 7.
Dance it out down at The Brunswick in Old Orchard Beach as dance/pop cover act Tickle gets ready to bring the house down with some of the best of today’s music mixed in with a little bit of retro funk. The party starts at 8:30 tonight.
Party out on the deck of The Porthole tonight as The Substitutes bring you the best in old school pop and rock with tunes from such legendary bands as The Beatles, The Who, The Monkees and more. Dark Hollow Bottling Company releases their third full length album Desperate Neon at Blue tonight with a big ol’ bash. From York to Fort Kent, Dark Hollow Bottling Company has been playing all over the state of Maine for the past decade. Treating audiences to their unique style of roots punk, they have become a staple in the local music scene and this evening they celebrate some brand new songs with a performance beginning at 10pm. Before the fellas hit the stage you can check out Shanna Underwood’s monthly Songwriters in the Round event, which will feature songs and stories from local musician Jenny Jumpstart and Brian Durkin of Dark Hollow Bottling Company. This portion of the night starts at 6 following by a performance by the Swingin’ Doors Trio at 8, Travis Cyr at 8:30 and Joshua Chamberlain’s Mustache (which features members of the Ghost of Paul Revere) at 9:15. DHBC closes the night with a set of new songs, as well as some tried and true tunes, and most likely a slew of special guests.

Salvage BBQ on Congress Street welcomes back the Jerks of Grass for another fun Friday filled with tons of toe-tapping bluegrass tunes. This free all-ages shindig gets swinging around 8:30.

After a bit of break from a turbulent 15 year career of music and mayhem, Scott Sorry has returned with his first solo record When We Were Kings, which draws influences from punk and melodic hardcore, Americana and straight-ahead rock and roll. Tonight Scott Sorry and his band bring those songs to life on stage at Empire alongside local RnR acts Borderlines and The Very Reverend. The party starts upstairs right around 9pm.
Hybrid tribute/fusion act Pink Talking Fish takes the music from three of the world’s most beloved bands, Pink Floyd, The Talking Heads, and Phish, and creates a special treat for fans of those particular acts. Check out the party at Portland House of Music and Events tonight as this show starts up at 9.
Tonight electro-pop rock act Dean Ford & The Keepsakes will be treating the Oasis patio to a night of electrified pop, rock and dance music. This show is free and is guaranteed to be chock full of pulsating beats, infections hooks, screaming synths, shredding guitar, and soaring vocals as things get underway right around 9pm.
