Do good and have fun at tonight’s Open Mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s

Here we go again, another Monday has sneakily crept up on us and is most likely going to try its best to destroy morale amongst the masses, but I think we can totally win the battle against Monday if we throw on our trusty Party Pants and rock it on out this evening. Let’s kick Monday’s butt all the way into Tuesday at shows such as Muddy Ruckus at Portland Lobster Company, Wolves in the Throne Room, Feral & Northern Curse at SPACE Gallery, Monday of the Minds at Flask Lounge, Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and more — here we go!

Get the week started with with one heck of a party at Easy Street Lounge as epic jam band Hambone brings some musical merriment to your Monday with an open jam welcome to all. Starting at 9 check out Hambone’s soulful, energetic jams and even sit and play some of your own.

Don’t miss tonight’s open mic with local pop-rock musician Michael Krapovicky as the community comes together to help Michael’s fiancé, Melissa Costa, who is fighting breast cancer, to alleviate some of the cost of her treatments. Join Michael and friends at Pedro O’Hara’s tonight starting at 6:30 as they donate 10% of sales to Melissa. It will be lots of fun for an important cause to help a couple who does so much for others in their community. Do good, have fun, and show your support for these two terrific people who could use a bit of help because everyone knows we all get by with a little help from our friends.

Muddy Ruckus will be making your Monday a bit merrier with a free show out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company tonight. This gypsy blues-folk act will kick things off right around 6:30pm.

David Scott Norton will believe at Andy’s tonight. David will be performing some old-time, honky-tonk, country music and singing songs from the likes of Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, Johnny Horton, Marty Robbins, and more. This free show starts up at 7pm.

Olympia, Washington-based black metal act Wolves in the Throne Room are coming to Portland tonight for a show at SPACE Gallery. Tonight they will be joined by Maine’s unique black-metal formation, Feral and New Hampshire’s brutal hardcore-tinged trio, Northern Curse, as this 18+ show gets underway at 8pm.

Monday Of The Minds is back at Flask Lounge tonight with the Boogie Tunez that’ll be giving you the “7 To Smoke” B Boy Battle. Stop through and check out some of New England’s best break dancers on the floor of Flask. There will also be performances by Stay On Mars and Twins Of Aries as this free show starts up at 9.

Get after it tonight with another Funky Monday featuring Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and Events. The band, which is basically most of the members of Model Airplane, back up this talented songstress for some funk, soul and R&B jams that are guaranteed to please as the good times get rollin’ right around 9.
