Local rockabilly band The Outsiders will be teaming up with Southern Maine rock and rollers The Local 109 for a night of fun at Willy’s Ale Room in Acton. A $5 cover gets you into this party which also doubles as a benefit show for Jaycen Daigle who is currently healing up from a pretty terrible motorcycle accident, so do good while having fun as things get underway right around 8:30pm.
Get heavy tonight at Sapphire in Auburn as metal acts Last Ones Alive, Weapons At Hand, Culling The Herd, My Missing Half and Begat The Nephilim join forces to bring the thunder, rattle some bones, and melt some faces beginning at 7 o’clock.
Tons of good vibes will be happening up at Gritty’s in Auburn tonight as they welcome back local jam band Continental Shakedown for a night of country, blues, jazz, improve, reggae, and rock and roll. This free show gets shakin’ at 8 o’clock.
The Will St. Peter Trio will be swanking up your Friday night with an evening of jazz tunes at Central Gallery. This all ages event gets swinging at 8.
Suds Pub in Bethel welcomes back local singer-songwriter Ron Bergeron for a night of tunes. Ron will be serving up tons of great songs starting at 8pm including covers of The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and maybe even a little Lady Gaga. If you’re in the area be sure to stop by and check out some good times and good tunes during this free and fun show.
Contemporary bluegrass act The Gibson Brothers will be bringing their songs to life on stage at the Stone Mountain Arts Center. Join the band for a night of excellent bluegrass music as things get underway at 8.
Portland based pop-rock and Americana act the Jason Spooner Band will be helping Gritty’s in Freeport celebrate their 21st beerthday with a part outside on the deck this evening. This all-ages shindig starts up at 5pm and is only five dollars to check out, so swing through, have some fun and help Gritty’s celebrate 21 years in Freeport tonight.
Have some finally Friday fun at the Olde Mill Tavern in Harrison this evening with local act The Brewins. The Brewins are an original jam band whose live shows feature diverse sets of originals, classics from the 60’s and 70’s and roots Americana tunes. Join in on the musical revelry as things begin at 9pm.
A celebration of the music of jazz guitar legend Wes Montgomery, presented by a local quintet featuring Dale Chapman (alto sax), Zane Omohundro (keyboard), John Smedley (guitar), Tim Clough (bass) and Mike Hansen (drums) will be happening up at Guthries tonight. The music starts at 8 o’clock.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH
The Brunswick in Old Orchard Beach is the place to be for another fun-filled Friday featuring dance-pop cover act Tickle. Things get shaking at 8:30 with a party mix of some of the best music from today as well as some classic retro funk from yesterday that is guaranteed to get you shaking it out on the dance floor.
What better way to welcome the weekend than by sipping an ice-cold adult beverage by the beach whilst listening to some tasty tunes? Do exactly that down at Mr. Goodbar in Old Orchard with some live, hip-hop courtesy of JB5. These cats will be bringing the Friday night thunder to the pier starting at 9.
Portland’s newest trio, Bread & Circus will be bringing some soul and blues classics to The Thirsty Pig in the Old Port tonight. Join these three talented musical merrymakers as things get underway at 6 o’clock.

Blue welcomes back The Ghosts of Johnson City this Friday. These musicians will present an evening of old mountain music, Civil War songs, coal-mining melodies, tunes of love and loss, and haunting murder ballads from the American South starting up at 6.
Local rock act OC and the Offbeats bring back their awesome brand of blues and soul to a super fun and super free show out on the Slab patio tonight. Join this energetic band of merry music-makers for a night of awesome tunes outside as things start up right around 8 o’clock.
MJ’s Wine Bar welcomes back Portland piano man Mike Maurice to their swanky lounge-area for a Friday filled with funk, soul and jazz. Join Mike and imbibe in some delicious vino as things get underway at 8pm.
Don’t snooze on a free show brimming with some truly awesome and eclectic indie rock and/or roll as Hella Good Tacos welcomes Buddusky, Mr. Neet, The Empty and Phallus Uber Alles for an all ages event that’ll get crankin’ at 8.
Scottish indie rockers Frightened Rabbit will be performing at Port City Music Hall tonight. Marked by sparse arrangements and the plaintive singing of frontman Scott Hutchinson, the band brings their clever pop-influenced songs to the stage alongside opener Julien Baker as this 18+ show starts at 8.
Maine-made alternative rock act Hiss & Chambers returns to the stage for the first time since like 2007 – seriously – so tonight’s epic showing from these fine fellas is not to be missed! Show H&C some welcome back love as they’re joined tonight by two other awesome local rock and roll acts, John Hughes Radio and Tiger Bomb, for what should be one helluva party over at Portland House of Music and Events. The festivities will commence right around 9 o’clock.
Los Angeles post-prog masters Intronaut will be blowing minds and melting faces during a show at the Empire tonight. Also on tonight’s bill are their tour mates Entheos and Moon Tooth and Portland’s own energetic prog-rock and rollers Five of the Eyes. Things get musically interesting beginning at 9 o’clock upstairs at Empire.
In case you’ve been hiding out under a rock (which honestly, I can’t really blame you sometimes) then you’re well aware that Eric Bettencourt is back in town for the summer. This evening he joins a few pals for some rootsy rock and roll fun at Gritty’s in the Old Port. I anticipate lots of good times and good jams as this free show starts up at 9pm.
Over at RiRa in the Old Port you can join Vinyl Tap who will be partying down tonight with all of your favorite dance jams.
