Local musician Tom Gurney returns to the Fire House Grille tonight for some good times and good tunes. Join Gurney as he gets things rockin’ and rollin’, acoustically of course, beginning at 7:30pm during this free, all-ages show.

If you’re in the Auburn area tonight, be sure to make your way out to Gritty’s to check out some original jams as well as some acoustic covers from area singer-songwriter Matt Fournier. Matt gets things swinging right around 8 this Thursday evening.

BRUNSWICK

The Daniel Inn Coast Bar + Bistro welcomes back local folk-rocker Brian Patricks for an early evening of music. Patricks intertwines finger style rhythmic guitar with a hint of harmonica into his sets of originals and covers that span the folk, blues, roots and rock genres. Check out Patricks’ solo set as this free all-ages show begins at 6 o’clock.

CAPE ELIZABETH

Locally based acoustic act Uke n’ Smile returns to the Local Buzz tonight for another free all-ages Open Mic. All artists and genres are welcome to join in on the creative fun as this musical gathering gets started up at 7 o’clock.

CARRABASSETT VALLEY

If you’re getting some spring skiing or snowboard in today, be sure to check out local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky tonight as he plays a set of songs at The Rack. Join Michael for some acoustic covers and originals as this free show starts up at 7pm.

HALLOWELL

Maine musician Steve Jones and a couple of his pals will be playing some tunes at The Liberal Cup tonight. Jones and company blend everything from rockabilly, country, old-time rock and roll and more to create some especially well-crafted jams that are guaranteed to make your ear holes happy, your head bob and your feet tap. If you’re in the area make sure you swing by as this free show starts at 7 o’clock.

Serenades with Sa Rah continue at Easy Street Lounge tonight so be sure to grab a cozy seat, enjoy a delicious cocktail, and get ready to hear some lovely acoustic tunes courtesy of this local songstress as this free show starts at 9 o ‘clock.

PORTLAND

Alternative rockers Cage The Elephant return to Portland tonight for a show at the Cross Insurance Arena. Rounding out tonight’s alt-rock bill are Silversun Pickups, Foals and Bear Hands as music gets underway at this all-ages show right around 7 o’clock.

Don’t miss out on a full evening of gypsy-blues, Americana and folk tunes as Muddy Ruckus and friends take over Blue on Congress Street this evening. Beginning at 7pm check out sets from Brian Dolzani, Max Garcia Conover, Dan Blakeslee, and Muddy Ruckus.

Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in downtown Portland welcomes local act Pretty Girls Sing Soprano to the stage to fill the space with beautiful sounds and songs. Since their inception Pretty Girls Sing Soprano have quickly turned heads with their tight, clever and original harmonies. You can check them out starting at 7 o’clock this Thursday evening.

Tonight Portland House of Music and Events welcomes The Subdudes to the stage. Led by singer and guitarist Tommy Malone and accordionist John Magnie, the Subdudes draw most of their inspiration from the sounds of their native New Orlean. Blending blues, gospel, funk, and R&B with their own vocal harmonies; their sound is also notable for the band’s substitution of a tambourine player for a drummer. The band came together after backing artists such as Joni Mitchell and Roseanne Cash. You can see them live tonight alongside special guests and local openers The ToneKings who’ll be bringing some soulful Americana rock n’ roll tunes to the stage to kick things off right around 7pm.

Merrill Auditorium welcomes male a cappella group Straight No Chaser to the stage tonight as they bring their New Old Fashioned tour to town. These fellas will be making some noise starting at 7:30pm.

Sisters Leah and Chloe of Rising Appalachia will be performing live at Port City Music Hall in Portland tonight as they play their own brand of roots tunes that include poetic vocals, spoken word rallies, banjos, fiddles, many beats of drums, kalimbas, beat box, eclectic instrumentation, and groove to elicit what should be one heck of a dance party. Local folk singer-songwriter Max Garcia Conover will open tonight’s show starting at 8 o’clock.

The Dogfish Bar & Grille welcomes the Kelly Lawrence Quintet for an evening of jazz tunes.  Tonight’s free show gets underway at 8 o’clock.

Local musician Michael Taylor returns to the lounge of Sonny’s tonight for some fun reggae tunes. Join Michael and a couple of his pals as they bring some summery sounds to your Thursday night during this free show that’ll get underway at 8:30.

Get your Thirsty Thursday underway with one heck of a party at Empire tonight as two Maine jam bands join forces for a night of musical merriment. Starting upstairs at 9 o’clock you can check out sets from Merther and the Lazzlo Family Band as they bring some soulful, energetic jams to the stage all night long.

Local pop-rock cover act Kilcollins will be doing their thing over at RiRa in Portland for their regular Thursday night gig. Rocking and/or rolling gets underway right around 9 with covers of tunes that everyone knows and loves.

Roots, Rhythm & Dub will be at Brian Boru in the Old Port tonight for some high-energy reggae and dub that is certain to super charge your Thursday. This free show starts right around 9:30.
