Tonight Portland House of Music and Events welcomes The Subdudes to the stage. Led by singer and guitarist Tommy Malone and accordionist John Magnie, the Subdudes draw most of their inspiration from the sounds of their native New Orlean. Blending blues, gospel, funk, and R&B with their own vocal harmonies; their sound is also notable for the band’s substitution of a tambourine player for a drummer. The band came together after backing artists such as Joni Mitchell and Roseanne Cash. You can see them live tonight alongside special guests and local openers The ToneKings who’ll be bringing some soulful Americana rock n’ roll tunes to the stage to kick things off right around 7pm.
