Award winning Maine songwriters Ellen Tipper and Ed DesJardins bring their amazing voices and piano prowess to Slates tonight. Heartfelt songwriting, beautiful harmonies, and inspired, spontaneous piano jams make this duo a must see as things get underway at 8:15pm.
If you’re in the Lewiston area this evening make plans to drop by Pedro O’Hara’s as local pop-rock musician Michael Krapovicky hosts another installment of his weekly open mic event. Tonight’s free gathering gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music, and some new friends.
This evening Local Sprouts hosts the Maine Inside Out Open Mic with a featured performance by local hip-hop artist Myles Bullen. Maine Inside Out collaborates with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people to create original theater, performed inside and outside of correctional facilities as a catalyst for social change. Tonight’s event begins at 7pm.
The Kevin Midgley Players return to Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight. These local musicians will be serving up some Americana and Delta blues tunes during a free and all ages show that starts at 7.
Indie alt-rock acts 10801, Classy On Occasion and Black Box Recovery will be playing a free show at Flask Lounge tonight. Join these bands for some serious Monday night fun as the rocking and rolling begins at 8.
Check out another Mothership Monday with Andrew Bailie & Crew down at Portland House of Music and Events tonight. Bailie and friends will be funkifying the start to your working week with some super fun jams as things get swinging at 9.
Tonight Coig brings their fiery Celtic style that shifts between century old tunes to original and contemporary compositions, featuring the band’s range of over a dozen instruments (vocals, fiddles, piano, guitar, banjo, mandolin, viola, bouzouki, whistles, and more) to the stage of the Coda Restaurant in Southwest Harbor. This evening’s Christmas-themed show starts up at 7.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
