Funky Mondays continue at Portland House of Music with The Longfellows tonight

I’m going to try and keep this weekend’s momentum rolling right on through today so that way this Monday won’t seem so bad. It’s called denial and I’ll let you know how it works out. In the meantime, here are the haps for tonight including Mike Preston at Andy’s, Open Mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, Primary Dance Party at Flask Lounge and more.

Local pop-rock singer-songwriter Michael Krapovicky returns to his post as host for another Open Mic event at Pedro O’Hara’s. Starting at 6:30pm all musicians are welcome to sign up and perform some tunes in front of an audience of peers and music-lovers alike during this free and fun event.

Musician Mike Preston will be playing some acoustic roots tunes during a free, all-ages show at Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight.

Make your way down to Otto’s lower Congress Street location and dispel any bad Monday vibes with some bluegrass and pizza. Local bluegrass musician Joe Walsh will be joined by a few of his friends for a Monday evening chock full of musical merriment Tap your toes and have some fu as this free show starts up at 8:30pm.

Another funky Monday makes itself known at Portland House of Music and Events tonight as The Longfellows return for some serious fun. The band, which is a collection of some of Portland’s funkiest players including members of Model Airplane, Jaw Gems, The Fogcutters, Micromasse Connor Garvey Band, and more, will be bringing the fun and funk to the stage as things get kickin’ right around 9.

Work it out on the dance floor at Flask Lounge in Portland with DJs OldNight, Zimbra and Doomsday J as they present another Primary Dance Party. The trio will be spinning some post-punk, synth-pop, New Wave and much more as tonight’s free dance party gets bumping right around 9 o’clock.

If you’re looking for some Open Mic action in Southern Maine tonight you can check the Kerrymen Pub in Saco where starting at 7:30 full bands and solo acts are encouraged to take to the stage and showcase their musical abilities at this free and fun event.
