Get down with Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and Events tonight

All right, all right,  don’t let a case of the Mondays make you miserable, instead check out the awesome events that are happening all around town and beyond this evening. Tons of ways to blow those Monday blues away so get out there and do it to it tonight at such shindigs as The Shakes at Portland Lobster Company, Freddy Dame Jr. at Andy’s, The Two Tones at The Porthole, an open mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s, and more!


Local jam band Hambone will be hosting an open jam tonight at Easy Street Lounge. Tonight they welcome any and all musicians to join them for some musical merriment as this free shindig gets swinging at 9 o’clock.


Pop-rock artist Michael Krapovicky returns to Pedro O’Hara’s this Monday evening to host another free open mic event. This event is open to all as the creative gathering and networking begins at 6:30pm.


Mike and Paul from local cover act The Cover Tones are back on the deck of The Porthole tonight with some rock, pop, dance, blues, country and all else in between. Join The Two Tones for this free and fun shindig as things get shaking right around 6pm.

The Shakes, a 7-piece funk, rock and reggae collective from that features some of the Maine music scene’s most fun and funky players, will be performing live out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company tonight. This free, all ages show starts up right around 6:30pm.

Singer-songwriter Freddy Dame will be performing at Andy’s Old Port Pub this evening. Join Dame as this free and all ages show starts up at 7pm.

Funky Mondays continue to be the place to get down as Gina Alibrio and the Red Eye Flight Crew bring you some of the funkiest, fun and soul-filled sounds around. Alibrio’s impressive pipes are backed by a band made up of most of the members of Model Airplane so basically you’re guaranteed to have a wicked good time boogie-ing down to some terrific tunes as things get started at 9 over at Portland House of Music and Events.

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
