Gritty’s in Auburn welcomes back Michael Krapovicky for a night of acoustic pop-rock originals and covers. Michael will get the good times rollin’ along at 8 during this free set.
Acoustic Americana act Double Entendre will be hosting an open bluegrass jam at The Gin Mill in Augusta this evening. Join in on the musical revelry as things get underway at 7:30pm.
Uke n’ Smile returns to the Local Buzz this evening for another open mic. All musicians of different skills and genres are welcome as this free, creative gathering gets underway at 7:30.
Sparks The Rescue front man Alex Roy goes solo and acoustic tonight for a show at Bueno Loco Restaurante. Beginning at 6:30 you can stop through and check out some of Roy’s pop-rock jams as he plays a free set of songs this evening.
Woodland Farms Brewery in Kittery will host local singer-songwriter Seth Gooby this evening as Seth performs a free set filled with some blues, soul and folk sounds. This evening’s event gets underway right around 6 o’clock so make some plans to stop by if you’re in that neck of the woods this Thursday.
Rails in Lewiston welcomes back Ron Bergeron for an early evening of tunes. Ron will be serving up tons of great cover songs starting at 5:30pm including renditions of The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and maybe even a little Lady Gaga. If you’re in the area be sure to stop by and check out some good tunes during this free and fun show.
Portland-based singer-songwriter, Connor Garvey will be bringing his brand of acoustic folk-rock blended with a touch of soul to the stage of Blue this evening. Check out Connor as he performs a set of songs starting at 6pm.
The Kevin Midgley Players return to Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight. These local musicians will be serving up some Americana and Delta blues tunes during a free and all-ages show that starts at 7.
Blue welcomes back contemporary bluegrass band Cumberland Crossing for another night of bustling bluegrass. Tonight’s free show gets kickin’ around 8 and directly following the band’s set will be an all-out bluegrass jam that’s open to any and all musicians who wanna join in. Swing through and have some fun if you’re kicking around downtown this Thursday evening.
SPACE Gallery gets dark and heavy as Maine black metal act, Falls of Rauros return to the stage tonight alongside black metal duo Obsidian Tongue (led by Brendan James Hayter, and now featuring Falls’ own drummer, Ray Capizzo), the doom-tinged far out outfit Ada, and Falls guitarist Jordan Guerette’s chamber ensemble Forêt Endormie. This all ages show starts up at 8:30pm.
Touring alt-folk singer-songwriter Dan Tedesco will be headlining a show at Empire tonight. This evening’s festivities get underway with opening sets by local acts Pretty Sad and Calen Perkins starting at 8:30pm.
Mellow your mind with some stellar jams at Gritty’s during another fun night with the one and only A Band Beyond Description. Far more than just your typical Grateful Dead cover band, these fellas jam out on everything from Phish, the Allman Brothers, The Band and more. Anticipate good times, good tunes and good people starting right around 9.
Ben Kilcollins & The Vargas Twins are back at RiRa tonight for some sweet, acoustic action. You know Ben from his time spent pop-rockin’ as the frontman of the band Kilcollins, but this evening he teams up with the talented Vargas Twins for some fun cover tunes and originals starting right around 9.
Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza welcomes back award-winning folk musician Anni Clark tonight. Anni brings her acoustic 12-string back up to the stage for some original tunes starting at 7.
Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
