We are officially half way to the freakin’ weekend, my babies! This is cause for some serious celebrating, and good thing, because there are a ton of awesome things to check out tonight. Downtown Biddeford’s Music in the Park concert series showcases the earthy, emotionally expressive and finely crafted Americana, folk, and blues sounds of local act Hilton Park this evening. Head out to Shevenell Park right around 5:30pm for this free and family-friendly event.
Local guitarist, singer and songwriter Dave Jacquet will be hosting another free Open Mic up at Cole Farms in Gray this Wednesday. Starting at 7 all musicians are welcome to join in on the fun and jam out on stage with Dave and a few of his friends, so be sure to grab your instrument of choice and let the creative energy flow!
OLD ORCHARD BEACH
Pop-rock and roller Alex Roy will be performing a set of original tunes and cover songs out on the patio of The Brunswick. Tonight’s event is free and sure to be fun so swing through if you’re in the area this Thursday as the music starts up at 7 o’clock.
The Working Dead are bringing some grooves out on to the patio of Portland House of Music and Events this Wednesday. This trio of talented artists will be serving up some Happy Hour Grateful Dead jams during a free show that starts at 4pm outside on the patio.
The Porthole on Commercial Street welcomes back local singer-songwriter Isaiah Bennett for a set of songs this evening. Starting at 6 check out Isaiah’s distinctive mix of acoustic pop and funk during this free and fun event.
Singer, songwriter, guit-fiddler and all around good dude, Eric Bettencourt is back in Portland for the summer and tonight he joins some pals for some songs out on the Portland Lobster Company deck. This free show is guaranteed to be a good time so swing through and check things out as music starts right around 6:30pm.
Check out some fun, original music during a free show this evening over at Local Sprouts as local act The Up and Ups bring some melodic pop-rock to your Wednesday with a show that’ll get swinging right around 7pm.
Blue’s Irish Concert Series continues with a featured performance from Breton harpist Tristan LeGovic. LeGovic’s set begins at 7:30 and will be followed by another Wednesday evening Irish Session open to any and all musicians looking to get up on stage and jam.
At Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port you can check out another fun evening of folk tunes with local musician Dave Rowe. Rowe will be making some music that pairs perfectly with an ice cold pint of beer, so swing through and check him out if you’re in the downtown area this Wednesday evening.
Wind down another Wednesday with some acoustic roots tunes courtesy of David Beam and The Custom House Gang as this local act plays a free show at Andy’s Old Port Pub in the Old Port tonight. These fellas will get the good times rolling starting at 8pm.
Nashville-based indie rock dynamo Kristen Ford will be joined by Portland rock and roll trio Nous Sommes for a free show at Flask Lounge tonight. Tons of tunes and fun to take in this Wednesday as things start up around 9pm.
Catch some great tunes tonight at Portland House of Music as musicians Doug Emery, Justin Maxwell, Joshua M. Robbins, Christopher Sweet, Tim Sullivan and Ryan Benoit come together on stage once again as The Maine Dead Project as part of the band’s summer residency. These talented artists will be performing songs from the Grateful Dead and more as things get underway at 9pm.
Party out at Mill Creek Park in South Portland this evening as The Substitutes bring you the best in old school pop and rock with tunes from such legendary bands asThe Beatles, The Who, The Monkees and more. Even better, this evening’s show is absolutely free and family friendly, so if you’re looking to wind down your Wednesday with some good ol’ fashioned rock n’ roll, swing on by and check ‘em out beginning at 6:30.
Yarmouth locals, Loose Threads will be bringing their soulful, bluesy, rockin’ covers to Royal River Park in Yarmouth tonight to close out the outdoor summer concert series. This free, all-ages shindig gets swinging at 6pm.
