We’ve already made it half-way through another fun-filled week, and I don’t know about you guys, but I am totally ready to hurdle the hump and make way for the freakin’ weekend. Take in some roots rock tunes during a free show at Champions tonight. Starting at 9 local musician Travis James Humphrey will be playing a solo set of songs.
The Music on the Mall Summer Concert Series continues on the Brunswick Mall tonight with the Chicago blues, rockabilly, jazz, and sixties soul sounds of the Liz Lannon Band. The LLB will be taking the stage for this free all-ages event right around 6pm.
Jazz up your midweek happenings by checking out LQH Live in the Lounge at Frontier tonight. The immensely talented cats of LQH (Chas Lester, Tyler Quist, and Evan Haines) will be bringing their melting pot of sound — everything from soul, jazz, funk, and rock — to life during this free show that’ll get underway at 7:30.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH
Sparks The Rescue front man Alex Roy goes solo and acoustic for an evening performance at The Brunswick in Old Orchard Beach. Starting at 7 you can stop through and check out some of Roy’s pop-rock jams as he plays a free set of songs this evening.
The Working Dead are back to bring the good vibes to the patio of Portland House of Music and Events this evening. This trio of talented, local musicians will be serving up some Happy Hour jams during a free show that starts at 4pm. Check out the act’s fun covers of the Grateful Dead out on the patio.
The Porthole on Commercial Street welcomes back local singer-songwriter Isaiah Bennett for a set of songs this evening. Starting at 6 check out Isaiah’s distinctive mix of acoustic pop and funk during this free and fun event.
Singer, songwriter, guit-fiddler and all around good dude, Eric Bettencourt is back on the Portland Lobster Company deck with a few friends for a free show that is guaranteed to be a good time starting up at 6:30pm.
Blue’s Irish Concert Series continues with a featured performance from the Don Roy Trio. Music starts at 7:30 and will be followed by another Wednesday evening Irish Session open to any and all musicians looking to get up on stage and jam.
David Beam and the Custom House Gang will be serving up some down home, acoustic roots tunes to wind down your Wednesday with over at Andy’s Old Port Pub. The local act will get the good times and good tunes rolling around 8.
Over at Bull Feeney’s you can check out another fun evening of folk tunes with local musician Dave Rowe. Rowe will be making some noise that pairs perfectly with an ice cold pint of beer, so swing through and check him out if you’re in the downtown area this evening.
Your second chance to catch some Dead tunes at Portland House of Music happens right around 9 as The Maine Dead Project returns to the stage as part of their summer residency. These talented local musicians will be bringing the sounds of the Grateful Dead to life tonight so swing through and check ‘em out if you’re downtown this Wednesday evening.
Toby & Nate of Sparks The Rescue will be playing all of your favorite pop-rock tunes out on the Oasis patio tonight. Join these fun and talented fellas as this free show starts at 9 o’clock.
