As much as I don’t want to, it is time to saddle up for another working week. We might as well make the most out of our Monday and make it decidedly less lame by checking out some fun events all around town and beyond, so here we go! Check out music at such shows as Lamb of God, Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity at the State Theatre, Mirah and Jherek Biscoff at SPACE Gallery, Funky Monday with Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew at Portland House of Music and Events, Open Mic with Michael Krapovicky at Pedro O’Hara’s and more.
Head out to Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight where local musician Paddy Mills will be performing a free show this evening. Paddy Mills is an award winning folk singer/songwriter whose songs are as salty as the Maine coast he calls home, check him as he starts playing right around 7 o’clock. .
Heavy metal act Lamb of God will be bringing the thunder to the State Theatre tonight. Also bringing some heavy-hitting, skull-crushing tunes to the stage are Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity. Face melting gets underway at this all ages show right around 7 o’clock.
Brooklyn independent pop artist Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn will be collaborating with legendary indie composer Jherek Biscoff and a string quartet this Monday evening for a one of a kind perform an at SPACE Gallery. Music gets underway at 8pm.
Make your way down to Otto’s and dispel any bad Monday vibes with some great bluegrass music and delicious pizza. Tap your toes and have some fun as this free, all-ages show starts at 8:30pm.
Monday of the Minds presents Myles Bullen and friends as they celebrate the release of Bullen’s new album “Every Flower In the Meadow Belongs” at Flask Lounge tonight. Joining Myles will be Hannah Harleen, who’ll be performing a set of eclectic jazz tunes over hip-hop beats, and Ben Wilson, who’ll be providing a bridge into other genres for the night. There will be also be an open mic starting at 9 so be sure to grab a crew and swing through tonight.
Funky Mondays are THE place to get down with Gina Alibrio and the Red Eye Flight Crew. Featuring most of the members of Model Airplane backing up this talented vocalist, you’re guaranteed to have a wicked good time boogie-ing down to some soulful tunes as things get started at 9 over at Portland House of Music and Events.
More Open Mic action will be happening at The Kerrymen Pub in Saco this Monday evening. Beginning at 7:30 both solo musicians and full bands are welcome to the stage and do their thing.
