Port City Music Hall presents The Orwells with The Walters tonight

After a wonderful three-day weekend it’s time to get back on track and kick it into full gear for another working week. Thankfully Tuesday night seems to understand that just because it’s back to work doesn’t mean that the party’s got to be put on hold. There are a ton of cool shows happening all around tonight including Welterweight at Blue, Oh Malô with Acadia, Hours North & valleyheart at Empire, Ryan Halliburton & The Still at Portland Lobster Company, and more.


Check out another free and all-ages show out on the Portland Lobster Company patio as Ryan Halliburton and The Still bring some pop-rock tunes to your Tuesday evening as the fun begins outside at 6:30pm.

Andy’s Old Port Pub hosts an evening of acoustic, old school Louisiana blues as they welcome back Poor Howard to the stage tonight. This all ages and free show starts at 7.

Check out the smart, pop-infused Americana and folk sounds of local act Welterweight at Blue this evening. The band will be coming together on stage in this unique and intimate venue right around 7pm so make some plans to stop in and check them out.

Port City Music Hall welcomes The Orwells to the stage tonight. The Chicago five-piece create rasping garage rock and infectious melodies that are guaranteed to turn things up this Tuesday. Fellow Windy City rockers, The Walters will open the show as this 18+ event gets underway at 8pm.

Check out tonight’s Open DJ Night happening at Flask Lounge.  Starting at 9 you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open decks. All you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones. This event is free and always a good time so go on and check it out.

Boston band Oh Malô will be bringing their colorful soundscapes that blend vocal melodies with intertwining ambient guitars and driving drums to the stage of Empire tonight. Oh, Malô pulls influence from such bands as Bombay Bicycle Club, Radiohead, Local Natives, Daughter, and Jeff Buckley. Tonight they’ll be joined by local indie acts Acadia, Hours North and valleyheart as music starts up at 9 o’clock.

Check out a free show at Gritty’s tonight as roots rocker Travis James Humphrey plays a set starting up at 9.

Local indie rock band, Million Dollar Lounge will be live at Blue tonight. MDL will be bringing some of their unique takes on covers that range from Dave Brubeck to T-Pain as well as original compositions to the stage starting at 9pm.


Local acoustic act Uke n’ Smile is back at Sea Dog Brewing Company in South Portland for another free, all-ages open mic event. All genres of music, musicians of varying skills, capabilities, and ages are welcome to join in on the fun as the music starts at 8pm.

Holly Nunan

Holly “The Nunz” Nunan is a musician from Portland, Maine with an unabashed love for the city as well as its thriving Maine music scene. This is her scene report.

Aside from here on this blog, she can be found around town taking in local shows, performing with any variety of musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking up local music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings around 6:20am. She is also the Promotions Director for WFNK, WTHT and WHXR in Portland as well as an On Air Personality at 107.5 Frank FM.
