Local blues and R&B act The Colwell Brothers will be performing as part of the Music on the Mall summer series in Brunswick tonight. Join the band out on the Brunswick Mall as things get swinging right around 6.
Tyler Lienhardt and Jake Hoffman will be bringing you some old-time, folk, blues and world music during this week’s installment of the Frontier’s Live in the Lounge music series. This pair of talented local musicians join forces as Red-Eyed Fox to create some delightful sounds using fiddle, banjo, and guitar. This free show will start up at 7:30pm.
Bucksport’s Wednesday on Main music series continues tonight with a free, all ages show on Main Street with Stesha Cano. Starting at 5:30 enjoy some of Stesha’s original blues and jazz as she and her band bring some fun time tunes to the waterfront tonight.
Local guitarist, singer and songwriter Dave Jacquet will be hosting another free Open Mic up at Cole Farms in Gray this Wednesday. Starting at 7 all musicians are welcome to join in on the fun and jam out on stage with Dave and a few of his friends, so be sure to grab your instrument of choice and let the creative energy flow!

Pop-rock and roller Alex Roy will be performing a set of original tunes and cover songs out on the patio of The Brunswick. Tonight’s event is free and sure to be fun so swing through if you’re in the area this Thursday as the music starts up at 7 o’clock.
Hey all you Dead Heads! You’ve got two chances to get your noodle on down at Portland House of Music and Events this Wednesday. The first being Happy Hour with The Working Dead as they play a free show out on the patio. Starting at 4 this talented trio will be playing all your favorite Grateful Dead tunes as well as some various covers from other beloved jam bands so make some plans to check it out.
It’s Wednesday, which means that The Porthole welcomes back talented local singer-songwriter Isaiah Bennett for his weekly gig out on the deck stage. This evening’s free event starts up at 6 with original songs that showcase Isaiah’s distinctive blend of acoustic pop and funk as well as some well-known cover tunes so if you’re downtown swing through and check it out.
Congress Square Park will be hosting local act The Gather Rounders for a free, all-age show this Wednesday. Starting at 6, check out this string band that blends traditional and progressive bluegrass and folk into a lush mix of clean harmonies, inventive pickin’ and solid grooves outside in the park.
Singer, songwriter, guit-fiddler and all around good dude, Eric Bettencourt is back in Portland for the summer and tonight he joins some pals for some songs out on the Portland Lobster Company deck. This free show is guaranteed to be a good time so swing through and check things out as music starts right around 6:30pm.
Blue’s Irish Concert Series continues with a featured performance from set Colleen Raney. Colleen Raney heads back to the stage of Blue with bouzouki player Ryan Davidson and flute player/singer Hanz Araki. Music starts at 7:30 and will be followed by another Wednesday evening Irish Session open to any and all musicians looking to get up on stage and jam.
MJ’s Wine Bar’s Wednesday night music series known as Ladies in Red continues this evening with local songstress Kristina Kentigian and keys player Kyle Friday as the duo offers up some jazz standards, soul tunes and a couple of Kentigian’s originals. Settle in and enjoy this free showcase from this talented pair as things get underway right around 8 o’clock this evening.
Over at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port you can check out another fun evening of folk tunes with local musician Dave Rowe. Rowe will be making music that pairs perfectly with an ice cold pint of beer, so swing through and check him out if you’re in the downtown area this evening.
Acclaimed French act, M83, brings some shoegaze, synth pop, and ambient sounds over to the stage of the State Theatre in Portland tonight for an all ages party that gets underway at 8 with opening sets from Chairlift and Sofi Tukker.
Take in some quality acoustic roots tunes with David Beam and the Custom House Gang at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland this Wednesday. This lively, local bunch will be playing some music for your midweek wind-down starting at 8pm.
Rap Night presents a slammin’ show upstairs at Empire this Wednesday as they welcome Cesar Comanche, one of the founding members of Justus League, along with Poe Mack from Virginia. Robbins, Christopher Sweet, Tim Sullivan and Ryan Benoit of The Maine Dead Project continue their summer residency.
