Rigor Samsa, KGFREEZE & Mill Fire perform as part of Empire’s Three for 3 series tonight

Here’s hoping you made Monday sad it even showed its face and that you’re willing to do even more of the same sort of ass kickin’ tonight because, as usual, there are a ton of great shows to take in this Tuesday including a Mardi Gras Celebration with The Fat Tuesdays at Portland House of Music and Events, Jesus Cactus at Blue, an open mic with Uke n’ Smile at Sea Dog Brewing Company, Nat Hussey at Andy’s Old Port Pub, Bill Umbel and The Umbelievables at Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza, and more!

Three talented singer-songwriters from right here in Portland will be teaming up once again for another evening of songs and stories over at Blue. Starting at 6 check out another In The Round Event featuring Max Garcia Conover, Griffin Sherry and Max Davis as they come together on stage to share their own original roots, Americana, and folk compositions.

Folk-rock singer-songwriter Nat Hussey returns to the stage of Andy’s Old Port Pub this evening for a night of songs and stories that will start up right around 7 o’clock.

Some of Portland’s finest funk, soul, blues and R&B players come together to celebrate the last night of Carnival before everyone gives up all the good stuff for Lent. It’s Mardi Gras and tonight you can celebrate in style with a costume ball down at Portland House of Music and Events. The Fat Tuesdays, which features members of Model Airplane, The Kenya Hall Band, Micromasse, The Fogcutters and more, will be backing up such cats as Lex Jones, Kenya Hall, and Frank Hopkins as they bring the funk and soul to your Fat Tuesday night revelries. Grab your finest beads and party down New Orleans style as things get crankin’ right around 8!

Electronic music comes in all sounds, colors, and textures, but drummer RJ Miller exploits the ambient side with chilled themes and moody soundscapes that you can check out tonight as he brings his latest musical endeavor, Jesus Cactus, to the stage of Blue. Miller expertly juxtaposes his drum kit with piano, keyboards, and analog synthesizers through infectious melodies that move and groove as things begin right around 8 o’ clock tonight.

There’s going to be one helluva party at Empire tonight as their Three for 3 music series continues with three awesome rock n’ roll bands joining forces for some Tuesday night thunder. Starting at 9, check out electrifying sets from Rigor Samsa, KGFREEZE and Mill Fire. It’s only $3 to get in with $3 drink specials and 3 stellar bands so swing through, enjoy some tunes, and rock it out tonight.

Another Open DJ Night is happening again at Flask Lounge.  Starting at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open tables and all you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones! This event is absolutely free and always a good time, so go on and check it out.

Local acoustic act Uke n’ Smile is back at Sea Dog Brewing Company in South Portland for another free, all-ages open mic event. All genres of music, musicians of varying skills, capabilities, and ages are welcome to join in on the fun as the music starts at 8pm.

Bill Umbel and the Umbelievables bring some fun sounds to the stage of Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza. Lots of bluegrass goodness will start up right around 7pm during this free and all ages show.
