We are really getting after it this week! It’s already Wednesday and I feel a-okay! There’s a bunch of great stuff going on all around town and beyond so let’s join forces and do it to it at shows such as the Dapper Gents Duo at RiRa, Built To Last at Portland House of Music, Dave Rowe at Bull Feeney’s, Banjo Read at Blue, Pete Foley at Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza, Don Campbell at The Frog and Turtle and more! Here we go!
Organ-based trio Micromasse returns to Frontier tonight as part of the venue’s Live in the Lounge Wednesday night music series. This free show will showcase the melodic and mesmerizing sounds of musicians Chris Sweet, Max Cantlin and Pete Dugas as the three combine guitar, drums and organ to create some superior instrumental jams starting right around 7:30pm.
Local folk artist Dave Rowe will be performing at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port tonight. Join Rowe for some rollicking good times as this free show gets underway at 8pm.
Street Sity Surf is home for the holidays and tonight they’re bringing some blistering straight-out-of-the-basement rippers as earnest and powerful as anything that’s ever been dubbed ‘punk’ to the stage of SPACE Gallery. They’ll be joined by the twisted garage pop of Ossalot, the posi-punk theatrics of Snowhaus, and lo-fi wunderkinds Amiright? The party starts at 8 o’clock.
Add some folk-pop musical merriment to your midweek get down as the Dapper Gents Duo return to the stage of RiRa for another free show that starts up at 9.
Lenny’s at Hawkes Plaza welcomes back Pat Foley for some acoustic country-rock. If you’re in the area tonight make some plans to drop by as the music starts up at 7.
Maine-based adult-contemporary folk rock artist Don Campbell will be getting into the spirit of the season with a special holiday show at The Frog and Turtle tonight. This free, all-ages festive gathering gets underway at 7:30.
