BANGOR

The Dixie Chicks bring their reunion tour up to Bangor tonight for a show at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion. This trio of charming sirens brings their combo of Texas swing, upbeat bluegrass, and pop harmonies to the stage alongside opening act Anderson East as things get underway at 6pm.

CAPE ELIZABETH

Local acoustic act Uke n’ Smile is hosting another Open Mic at the Local Buzz tonight. Starting at 7 musicians are welcome to play some tunes, or if you can’t play an instrument yourself you can sing with the fellas in Uke n’ Smile as they play the music for you. It’s free, fun, and yummy drinks and food are available as well, so if you’re in the area tonight, be sure to stop by and check things out.

DAMARISCOTTA

King Eider’s Pub in Damariscotta welcomes back local singer-songwriter Ron Bergeron. Ron will be serving up tons of tunes starting at 7 including covers of The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and many, many more. If you’re hanging in the area tonight make some plans to swing through and have some fun at this free show.

HALLOWELL

Check out The Grassholes as they play some feel-good bluegrass music up at The Liberal Cup in Hallowell tonight. Starting right around 7, you can kick back and enjoy some mighty fine, boot-tappin’ tunes during this free affair.

Local songstress Sa Rah brings her evening of serenades back to the Easy Street Lounge tonight, so make some plans to get cozy and enjoy her acoustic set of songs as things start up at 9:30.

LEWISTON

Local folk-rocker Brian Patricks will be playing a handful of original tunes and classic covers at Sea 40 in Lewiston this evening. Patricks begins his set right around 7 so stop through and enjoy some tasty tunes and food.

Pedro O’Hara’s welcomes back Michael Krapovicky for a night of acoustic pop-rock originals and covers. Michael will get the good times and tunes rollin’ along at 7 during this free all ages event.

PORTLAND

Get your Thursdaying underway with some free, early afternoon music over at the Portland Lobster Company as Ryan Halliburton and The Still return to the deck with some fun pop-rock sounds that are guaranteed to please as this all ages show starts up at 12:30.

Portland chanteuse Renee Coolbrith joins forces with local piano man Kris Rodgers for another free happy hour set out on the patio of Portland House of Music and Events. Join this dynamic duo as they help you get your Thursday on with some terrific tunes right around 4 o’clock.

Another chance this week to get your folk-pop on with the Dapper Gents Duo as they return to The Porthole for some musical merriment during a free, 21+ show that’ll get started up at 6.

Pseudo-local boy and soulful singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne returns to Portland tonight for a performance at Thompson’s Point. This fun outdoor evening with Ray will get underway right around 6.

Portland psychedelic folk-rocker Dominic Lavoie and a couple of his friends (ahem, Jeff Beam and Dan Capaldi) come together tonight to play some tunes as Keanu Keanu out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company. It should be a perfect evening to check out some free jams, both originals and covers, as this all ages, outdoor shindig gets swinging right around 6:30.

Andy’s Old Port Pub is the place to be this evening for some rock, blues, R&B, and jazzy funk tunes as 13 Scotland Road returns for a free show that starts up at 7 o’clock.

Salvage BBQ welcomes back Portland piano man Mike Maurice to their lounge-area for a Thursday evening of funk, soul and jazz jams. Join Mike and imbibe in some delicious BBQ as things get underway at 7.

Blue welcomes Bad Mariachi to the stage tonight. Bad Mariachi is the project of local musician, McKay Belk, his bandmates from the absence-laden act, if and it, Chris Dibiasio and Tim Alan Walker, and local songbird, Kristin Kellas. Make plans to swing through starting at 7:30 to check out the band’s southern-inspired folk sounds.

Get your Thirsty Thursday on with one heck of a party out on the patio of Slab as epic jam band Hambone brings some musical merriment to your evening. Starting at 8, swing through, grab a slab, and check out Hambone’s soulful, energetic jams during this free show.

The Portland Jazz Orchestra returns to the stage of One Longfellow Square tonight. This 18-piece jazz ensemble performs a variety of traditional and contemporary big band literature. The PJO plays works written by members such as Craig Skeffington, Willie Johnson, Chris Humphrey and Terry White in addition to literature composed by a variety of jazz artists including Tom Kubis, Matt Harris, Bob Mintzer, Bill Holman and Maria Schneider. You can check them out as things begin right around 8pm.

Paul de Jong, best known as the co-founder and cellist of the beloved collage-pop duo, The Books, will be performing on stage at SPACE Gallery on Congress Street tonight. Paul brings his eccentric folk-pop and inside-out jazz sounds to life tonight alongside opening acts, Portland’s own electro-pop outfit, Glass Fingers (the act’s first performance in three years) and circuit-bending madman, Computer at Sea (which is his first show in over a year). Sights and sounds get started up at 8:30pm.

Portland’s metal music makers Shabti, Psychic Wounds, and Superorder are going to get wicked loud and wicked awesome at a fun show over at Geno’s tonight. Ready yourself for the thunder as things get underway right around 9.

Local crowd favorites Kilcollins will be pop-rockin’ and rollin’ at RiRa in the Old Port this Thursday evening. This troupe of talented dudes will be serving up some serious good times with their own original songs as well as anthemic cover tunes starting right around 9 at tonight’s free show.

Local experimental folk duo Snaex are back at Blue this Thursday. Don’t miss the pair’s unique songs as they take the stage starting at 9 tonight.

Tonight electro-pop rock act Dean Ford & The Keepsakes will be treating the Oasis patio to a night of electrified pop, rock and dance music. This show is free and is guaranteed to be chock full of pulsating beats, infections hooks, screaming synths, shredding guitar, and soaring vocals as things get underway right around 9pm.

Dustin Lavasseur is back in Portland for a show Brian Boru in the Old Port. This Brooklyn transplant will be joined by local music makers Tyler Stanley, Daniel MacLeod and Ed Dickhaut for an evening of tunes. Join the bandfor some serious fun as this free show starts up at 9:30.

Mousa, the experimental electro-folk project of Vinny Mousa aka Aleric ‘Vince’ Nez is back on stage at Blue tonight. Starting at 10 you can check out Mousa’s original dreamboat crooner songs full of ethereal lyrics on lush sonic backdrops.

SCARBOROUGH

Party down with 5-piece dance band Wavelength as they bring the good times and good tunes to The Landing at Pine Point tonight. With covers that span such genres as classic rock, R&B, pop, country, disco and jazz, there’s bound to be a little something for everybody as this Thursday night show starts off at 8 o’clock.
